Painterly Pears, The Right Words, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you that I found here at Clair Daly's site. I LOVE following her blog. She's a great stamper plus she's from Australia and I LOVE listing to her accent!

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card.

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock was cut for the largest layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Painterly Pears" 12" x 12" package. This piece of DSP in particular was what drew me to the card in my hunt for one using that exact paper. I find it difficult to work with and was thrilled to find such a lovely card using it. I taped this to the Basic Black piece and then that was taped to the card base.

Next I textured a piece of Basic Black card stock using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I tapped my Whisper White ink pad across it so the ink touched the raised parts. I heat set it because this ink takes a while to dry. I should have remembered that and I had remembered I would have made this piece first. Once dry I trimmed it to 2" x 5-1/4" and I glued it to the front of the card about 5/8" from the fold.

The pears on the original card were stamped. I didn't purchase the stamp set but I did buy the DSP. I fussy cut two pears and two pear stems with leaves. I glued the stems to the top are of the pears. Dimensionals were added to the back of the left pair and it was set in place on the front of the card. Dimensionals were also added to the right pear but not on the area that sits on top of the first pear.

I tied a double bow using some linen thread and I set it aside.

The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using versa mark on Basic Black card stock and then sprinkled with white embossing powder. I heat set the powder. I trimmed the piece to measure 3/8" x 2-1/4". Dimensionals were added to the back.

I added a dot of glue on the knot of the bow and set it in place on the pear. Then I added the word piece and the card was done.

Isn't it pretty? Can you see why I just had to make it? I kind of want to just keep it and not use it! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
