The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card. I slipped it under my stamping mat while I worked on the other components.
Next I cut the focal piece using Basic White card stock. It measures 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" and the Gorgeous Grape piece behind it measures 2-3/4" x 4".
Next I stamped the large flower. I used Highland Heather ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. Then using Gorgeous Grape ink I stamped the detailed images. The stamps are from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle. I cut the flower out using the matching die. The flower was then set on top of the Basic White piece so I could see where to stamp the smaller flowers. They were stamped using Highland Heather ink that was stamped off once. The details were stamped next using Highland Heather full ink. The center was stamped using Pecan Pie ink. I repeated that for the other flower.
The leaves were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink that was stamped off once for the solid part and full ink for the details. Using the dies I cut them out.
Now knowing I wasn't going to add any embellishments that were thick and firm I opted to cut out those cute little flowers from a die in the bundle using Gorgeous Grape ink.
The words were stamped next using Gorgeous Grape ink. They are from the "Simply Said" set.
Since all the stamping and cutting was done it was time to assemble the card. I taped the focal piece to the Gorgeous Grape layer and then I glued that to the front of the card.
Dimensionals were added to the back of the large flower and it was set in place on the front of the card. I didn't press down on it because I wasn't sure if a Dimensional would get in the way of the leaves. I did add a little glue to the back of the leaves and I set them in place under the large flower.
I added the tiny little Gorgeous Grape flowers using glue and the card was done.
This was a fun card to make and I didn't have the issues with this set like I did yesterday! I like how it looks, it's such a pretty color bound to bring a smile to the birthday recipient.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
