Beautiful Gallery, Unbounded Love, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sympathy card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. A new window will open when you click on the link. Please read on to see how I made the card, I changed the measurements a little.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  I chose Basic Black over using the "Cloud Cover" because I only bought a variety pack of the in-colors and using a half a sheet so early in the "season" was too much. So I cut my sheet at 4-1/8" x 5-3/8". I textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card and slipped it under my stamping mat to set up.

Next I took the flower image from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package and cut it at 3-5/8" wide. Then I cut 1-3/16" strips. I needed three of these strips. Keep them in order or you image won't look so nice!

A 4" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic Black card stock was cut for the layer. The 3-7/8" side is at the top and the 4" is on the sides. To add the DSP I taped the top and the bottom ones on first and then added the center one. It was just easier to get it to look more even. Once the strips were in place I added glue to the back of the layer and set it in place on the front of the card trying to give equal spacing on the top and sides by eyeing it.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. It's retired but still available online as of this posting. I like this set because there's LOTS of great wording in it. I will hang onto this set for a while just for the words. If you don't have this set you can always use what wording you have and cut the layers to fit it. The words were stamped using black Memento ink on a 1-3/4" x 1-7/8" piece of "Cloud Cover" card stock. The Basic Black layer was cut at 2" x 2-1/8". I taped the layers together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 5/8" from the fold and 3/4" from the bottom edge.  And the card was done. The original card used a couple of elements on the front but I opted not to add anything to save mailing costs.

This was a super quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's sympathy card,
Wanda

I always like when an image is cut up into pieces - such a great effect. Super card.
