The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card. I slipped it under my stamping mat to help keep it flat.
Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Florals in Bloom" 12" x 12" package. This was basically the reason for today's card. I was challenging myself to make a card using some pretty busy DSP that I knew I would find difficult to work with. As it turns out it wasn't that difficult after all! My piece of DSP was cut at 5" x 1-1/2" and the Strawberry Slush layer behind it was cut at 5-1/4" x 1-3/4". I taped the DSP to the Strawberry Slush layer. I then glued it to the front of the card about 3/8" from the fold.
The focal piece was done next. It's a 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I recommend stamping the words first and then the stems. The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.
The stems came next and they were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink.
I stamped the flowers using Pretty in Pink for the solid part and Strawberry Slush for the center details. I cut them out using the matching die from the "Pretty Florals" bundle. I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals. This piece was then taped to the Strawberry Slush layer that measures 3" x 3-1/2". Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card creating equal space between the right edge and the DSP strip. And the card was done.
This was a fun and quick card to make. I can see myself making more at a later date.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
Wanda
