Peaceful Moments, Poppy Moments, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I saw a cute card on Pinterest and I wanted to make it but I didn't have the same Designer Series Paper (DSP) so I just went with what I had and this is what I ended up with. Not so fond of the color of the flower but it is what it is. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a fold half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Mint Macaron and a 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of DSP from the "Flower for Every Season" 6" x 6" stack. I taped those two pieces together and then taped them to the front of the card.  The left edge is 1/2" from the fold.

I die cut the flower. The large piece is cut from Blushing Bride card stock and the detailed layer is the new Magenta Madness.  I had gotten sample swatches of card stock and I thought I'd see if they were big enough to use for the flower.  They were!!!  I'm still not sure if I will  buy the in colors though.  And if I do it will be a variety pack.  I had added double sided sticky paper to the back of the Magenta Madness outlined piece because I didn't want to deal with gluing it to the Blushing Bride piece.  I also sponged on some Blushing Bride ink to the Blushing Bride piece to give it some dimension instead of looking so flat.  I also die cut the flower center using Early Espresso card stock. I glued that piece in place.

I die cut the flowers using the same "Poppy Moments" dies.  I forgot to use the double sided sticky paper so I had to get out my waxed paper.  I die cut the big area using Mint Macaron and I die cut the detailed area using a sample piece of Just Jade card stock.  I took the waxed paper and added some glue to one side. I folded the piece in half and took my bone folder to think it out, smearing it across the inside of the waxed paper area.  I opened up the waxed paper and set the detailed leaf on it. I pressed it onto the glue with the copier paper.  I lifted the copier paper and took the glued piece and set it on top of the larger leaf piece. I repeated it for the other leaf.

I set the flower on top of the card to see where the words are going to go.  The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I also looked where the leaves would go when I had the flower on the card.

I taped the leaves in place and I set the flower in place using Dimensionals.

This was an easy and quick card to make. I can see myself making one again if I had better matching colors.

Thank you SO much to take the time to visit today,
Wanda
