Berry Blessings, Good Morning Magnolia, Berry Delight, Thinking of You Card

Two days ago I made a "thinking of you" card using the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I love how elegant those words looked, so today when I was working on my card I thought that same stamp would look pretty on this card. Here's how I made my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" package. I cut my piece 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".  I taped it to a piece of Basic White card stock that was cut the same size. Before I taped it I die cut a stitched circle from the center of it  using the largest die. Once it was taped I set it in place on top of the card base using Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set using black Memento ink. I die cut the words using the second smallest stitched oval die. 

I die cut the largest scalloped circle using a quarter sheet of Rich Razzleberry card stock. I also die cut the scalloped oval from it's center. I used the die that was the next size larger than the stitched oval.  Be sure to center it so you can make use of that solid circle. It's such a waste, so why not try to cut out what you can from it's center.  I taped the words to the scalloped oval piece and set it aside.

Then I stamped the grapes (or are they raspberries???) from the "Berry Blessings" set using black Memento ink. Then I used the second step stamp and stamped the color on the berries using Rich Razzleberry ink.  I stamped three.

The stems for the berries were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink for the outline and Garden Green for the solid color. I stamped two.

Then the leaves were stamped using Mossy Meadow for the outline and Granny Apple Green for the solid part. I stamped two and then I fussy cut all the pieces.  Yup, there's no matching die. But once again, I survived the fussy cutting with no injuries!! LOL

I arranged and taped the fruits on the circle, then the stems and then the leaves. I set one stem on with a piece of Dimensional. And the top leaf was set in place with Dimensionals.  

I added Dimensionals to the circle and set it in place on the card.

The word piece was added using Dimensionals on the right side and double sided tape on the left side. And the card was done. 

This was a fun card to make and it's so very cheery looking. I have a lot of DSP to use up by the end of the month when it retires.  It's not going to happen!!! LOL

Darling Donkey, Birthday Card, Wobble Card Technique, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Here is the card I was talking about yesterday where I used the "Wobble" technique to make the little donkey move. Just like the kangaroo moved on yesterday's card.  It's a fun and cut technique. You can see how to make this card by clicking here.  There is a link to a video on the step by step details on how to do it. I do recommend using the 28 gauge wire. I used 20 gauge wire and the piece didn't have that nice fast wobble, it was more of a little giggle.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Rococo Rose card stock. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black was taped on top of the card base.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Flower & Field" 12" x 12"package.  The DSP is a Sale-a-Bration item you get free for a $50 purchase.

The donkey is from the "Darling Donkeys" set that is also a Sale-a-Bration item.  It was stamped using black Memento ink and fussy cut. I colored mine with the light and dark Smoky Slate Blends pens. And the muzzle, ears and feet were colored in using the light and dark Petal Pink Blends pens. 

I used 28 gauge wire that was wrapped around a round ink pen for about four times. For my wobbler, I punched out two 5/8" circles from some scrap card stock and I took an inch or so long piece of scotch tape and I cut it in half on the short side so I had two long strips. I centered the circle on the tape and then I slipped the piece between the first and second coil. I folded over the ends of the tape to hold the circle in place on the wire. I repeated this for the other end of the coil. 

I set my coil in place using glue dots. 

The words are from the same set. They were stamped using black Memento ink and then punched out using the "Modern Label" punch. I punched one side and then stuck the piece to a post it note and slipped it back in the punch and punched out the other end. I taped the piece in lace on top of the DSP.

The instructions had you cut the flowered piece at the top, following along the path of the flowers.  It made for a nice different edging.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White was added to the inside and the card was done.  

This was a very fun and easy card to make. Plus it's SO stinking cute too!

Kangaroo & Company, Valentine's Day Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I was looking for a fun card to make using the "Kangaroo & Company" set. I wanted to make Valentine's Day cards for my granddaughters. I had seen one a few days ago but I didn't save it and if you forget to save something you saw in Pinterest you'll never see it again. I have not had good luck searching for things I saw. Anyway, I found this card and thought I'd work with it. What I liked about the original card was the circle behind the kangaroo and the red hearts.  So here's what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock.

The Basic White piece on top of that was stamped using the words from the retired "Everything Festive" set. I didn't have any current sets with nice size Valentine's Day greetings.  But I'm sure you can find something current to use on your card if you need it to be current. I had stamped the words using black Memento ink and then I took my Blender pen and wiped off each heart until it was clean. I stamped the black and then I cleaned the stamp so I could use my Real Red marker and color the hearts and stamped them, I did have to color them twice because once was just not dark enough. Then I textured the piece using the "Subtle" embossing folder.  I set this piece aside.

I die cut the circle using the largest "Stitched Circle" die on a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Oh So Ombre" 6" x 6" stack.  After cutting the circle out I textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  I glued it to the "Subtle" textured piece. part of the circle hung over the edge. I trimmed that off.  Then I glued the piece in place. I often glue the textured pieces in place because sometimes they just don't stick. So I play it safe and glue them all.

The kangaroo from the "Kangaroo & Company" set was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored it using the light and dark Crumb Cake Blends pen and the Ivory Blends pen. The nose and ears were colored in using the light "Petal Pink" Blends pen. Then I die cut the kangaroo.  Last time, which was the first time I played with the set I had fussy cut the kangaroo. It wasn't a big deal because it was super easy to cut, not a lot of corners or turns. I had purchased the dies but forgot I had them. They were with another set. When I buy bundles I put them together with a rubber band and I matched up the kangaroo dies with some other set (don't ask me why, I have no idea why I did it).  But after I realized I had the dies I was anxious to use the set again.  

I stamped the hearts from the set using black Memento ink and I colored them in using the dark Real Red Blends pen. I also die cut those out. I tucked them in the slit that was created when the kangaroo was cut. I glued the flowers in place. The set is designed to be able to stamp tiny words on a tiny rectangle that is attached to the hearts or flowers or the two other images in the set and you pull them up from the kangaroos pocket to read the greeting.  I was going to do that but I decided that I would make a wobbler card.  These are very easy to make. All you do is take some very thin wire. I used 28 gauge. I had first used 20 gauge but it didn't wobble as much. The thinner the wire the better. Then you wrap the wire around a round pen or pencil about 4 times. I punched out two 5/8" circles of scrap card stock and I taped the wire to the circles using some scotch tape that I cut in half. I just centered the tape on the circle and slipped it between the bottom wire and folded the ends of the tape down to hold it in place. I repeated that for the other end. I used glue dots to affix the wire piece to my image and another glue dot on the other end to hold it onto the front of the card.  I have another card coming tomorrow using this technique so if you don't understand how to make this, please stay tuned and you will be making it like a pro!  Once the kangaroo was in place the cards were done. Now all I need to do is sign them and drop them off with some fun Valentine's Day candies.

Art Gallery, Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I was going to play with some of my Sale-a-Bration stamps but I found this card and wanted to make it. Though the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is a Sale-a-Bration item. You get 48 sheets of 6" x 6" DSP. More than you'll need. I always end up with lots left in any DSP that I purchase.  I don't think I've ever used an entire package.  Kind of sad.  But I thought this card would be great to do because it uses some of the new DSP. You can see the original card here. The link from there doesn't take you anywhere and I did try to find the card at the designers blog but after a few pages of searching I gave up, I didn't have the time to hunt.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I have to try to remember that it's now Basic White and not Whisper White but I often start typing Bright White.  UGH. One of these days it will just flow as I type without having to think about it.

I cut my DSP at 2" x 5-1/2". At this rate you only use 1/3 of a piece of DSP.  See why I never use up an entire pack of DSP?  LOL  But if you are smart you will set up your stamps in your Stamparatus and make several at one time, then you can use a whole piece or even more of the DSP!! I made two cards. I taped my DSP on the left about 1/4" from the fold.  

I stamped the leaves and stem image from the "Art Gallery" set using Granny Apple Green ink. 

The flower was stamped using Rococo Rose ink and then Rich Razzleberry on top of that and the center was stamped using BlackBerry Bliss.  My Rich Razzleberry was so dark that the Blackberry Bliss doesn't show up much at all.  

Once my stamping was done I die cut the pieces.

I set the card in my Stamparatus to stamp the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I set the leaves and stem piece on the card to see where the words should go. I removed them and then stamped the words using Rich Razzleberry ink.  

Next I set the flower in place using Dimensionals. I took my Wink of Stella pen and painted over the Blackberry Bliss image.

I had some pretty glass raindrops so I glued them in place using the Tombow Mono glue and the card was done.

I do like how it turned out, though I do regret the raindrops because it is now a non-machinable card but it can be hand delivered or just pay the extra postage.  If I make more, and I probably will, I will use sequins instead.

Berry Bliss, Berry Delight, Congratulations Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Catalog

I just realized that there are not that many more days before the 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration ends and I haven't played much with the sets from that catalog.  So today I found a pretty card using the "Berry Bliss" set and the "Berry Delight" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The card can be seen here but there was no link to the original post so I didn't have any measurements. So here is how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  The card stock was cut in half on the short 8-1/2" side. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

The first thing I did was I stamped the leaf using Mossy Meadow ink. Then I filled in the leaves with the leaf image and Garden Green ink. The berries were added using Night of Navy ink and they were filled in using Pacific Point ink.  I fussy cut them out. The little berry was cut out separately from the leaf piece.

After the fussy cutting I was able to figure out what size I needed to cut the circles. The top circle measures 2-3/8". The leafy circle on the bottom left measures 1-7/8" and the small circle on the right measures 1-5/8".  I set the circles in place where I thought they should go and lightly traced the areas with a pencil so I could erase them later.  I use an art gum kneadable eraser. These erasers are the best. They only pickup the graphite and nothing else. They do not ruin your paper. I often draw lines in pencil on my scoring board and I can knead this eraser into a point and get it right inside that score line to erase it.  Anyway, I moved the circles out of the way so I could add the berries. They were stamped using Night of Navy ink for the outline and Pacific Point for the inside. They were stamped twice.

I set the large circle in place and erased the line. Then I set the second circle in place and erased those lines. And I did the same with the smaller circle.

Then the fussy cut leaves and berries were set in place with Dimensionals. And don't forget to add that small berry.

The words are from the same "Berry Bliss" set and were stamped using Night of Navy on Basic White card stock. I cut them so they measured 1" x 3-3/8" and then I punched it using the "Triple Banner" punch. The words were set in place using Dimensionals. Make sure you don't put any where the stem is or it will push it down and it won't look right.

I don't know what the embellishments are but I had some raindrops from my stash. I had bought them back in 2008.  I guess it's about time I use them.  LOL  Anyway, I was glad I had something that was comparable and was able to use some. At this rate they will never be all used up because there's SO many in the bottle.  They are from "The Robin's Nest" Dew Drops.  I glued them with Tombow Multi Mono glue.  I really like that glue but I hate it when I get it on my fingers, it's like it doesn't want to come off and it's sticky.  I have used it for the gold foiling too. It dries but it's sticky and that's what you need for the gold foil.

I cut a 1/4" strip of the blue plaid DSP and added it to the bottom of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I love the stamps and matching DSP. I can't wait to make another card with this set.

Art Gallery, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

The "Art Gallery" set is one of my new favorites. I have a lot of fun using the large flower but I struggle with the smaller one because it's one piece and I have to color the image with markers or use a stamp set and everything is in one color. I like the stems green so it pretty much has to be colored with markers.  It ranks up there with fussy stamping.  Not one of my favorite things to do but I do it because I like the end results.  I found the card here on Pinterest. And here's my card. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Oh So Ombre" 6" x 6" stack. There's a lot of fun colors in the pack. I took the "Blackberry Bliss" one and textured it using the new "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  This folder is SO fun and makes a great looking background.

I stamped the flowers using my Stampin' Up! markers. I used Granny Apple Green for the stems and Melon Mambo for the flowers. The highlights on the flowers were stamped on using Rich Razzleberry ink from the ink pad.  I did set my stamp up in my Stamparatus so I could color more on the stamp if I needed to and I did need to! 

Once the stamping was done I used the matching die cuts to cut out the image. 

The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the fun rectangle die that came in the bundle.  

I set the flowers on the left side in place using Dimensionals.  For the flowers on the right, I cut off the small budding flowers. I made sure I rounded all the edges so it didn't look like I just lopped them off. I set the larger flower piece in place using tape on some parts of the flowers and the rest had Dimensionals added.  I added two small Dimensionals to the budding flowers and tucked them in under one of the upper flowers as you can see in the photo.

I added tape to the center part of the word piece where it touches the leaf and Dimensionals to the ends of the word piece and I set it in place. I didn't add any embellishments. I was thinking about it but I liked it the way it was.

Berry Blessings, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I got the new Sale-a-bration set "Berry Blessings" yesterday. So today I turned on the computer to see if I could find a fun card to make.  I did find one but I had change it a bit. You can see the original card here. There is no link to where that card came from so here is how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The change I made here was in the layout. I am not fond of the original layout because it's difficult to send tuck money in the card and the writing space is limited.  It's a cool layout but it's not one of my favorite. So I turned it into a standard card.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White (Whisper White has changed it's name to Basic White and I'm trying to get used to it - change is not one of my favorite things!!! LOL). One piece was for the inside and one was for the top. I taped the inside piece and added it to the card. I waited on the outside piece because of the wording.

Next I cut a 3-7/8" x 1-3/8" piece of Pacific Point card stock and a 3-3/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" package.  I ended up with a small piece when I cut my full sheet. I had cut a 4" strip and then cut two 5-1/4" pieces and what was left was what I used at the top part of the card.  It was nice not to have to cut a full piece just for a small strip.  I taped the DSP to the Pacific Point piece and I set it aside.

Then I cut a 2-1/4" x 2-7/8" piece of Basic White card stock. I set the piece up in my Stamparatus so I could stamp over the image should the ink not be detailed enough and of course mine weren't because some of my ink pads were too dry.  

I stamped the stem using Garden Green and then the leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink. Then the outline of the berries were stamped using Night of Navy ink. And the solid part of the berries were stamped using Pacific Point ink. I taped this piece to a 2-3/8" x 3" piece of Pacific Point card stock. I added Dimensionals to the back of it and without removing the protective layer, I set it on top of the card so I could see where the wording would go.  When I was looking at my stamped panel and the one on the original card I noticed that mine was too short. But I think it was meant to be because I really liked the words I used and I had wanted to use them but had I made the piece longer I would have probably used the words that were on the original card.  I stamped the words using Pacific Point ink.

I taped the top DSP panel in place and then I removed the protective backing on the Dimensionals and set it in place on the card.

A ribbon was tied (the ribbon is retired) and set in place using two small glue dots. After setting the ribbon in place the card still needed something. So I took my Wink of Stella pen and just painted a line under each of the berries. It didn't show up in the photo but you can see where the blue is more smooth and not so dotted. That's where the Wink of Stella is. And now the card was done.

I like how it turned out and I REALLY like these words SO much better. I'm not a big fan of puns and I was glad I didn't use the words from the original card.

Sweet Ice Cream, Framed For You, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I thought I'd make another card today using the "Sweet Ice Cream" set. It's such a fun and easy set to play with. I LOVE the larger "Happy Birthday" and "Thank You" words in the set too.  Not too sure why I would make a birthday looking card with the ice cream and then use "thank you" but maybe if it were for thanking someone for a birthday gift?  Not sure. I would definitely use them on a different card. So onto today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Blackberry Bliss.  This is a color I don't use very often. It's pretty but it's very dark. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package has some fun darker papers in it. I was glad I was able to use the Blackberry Bliss card stock. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut my DSP 4" x 5-1/4" and taped it to the front of the card.

I cut another piece of the DSP from the same pack at 2-7/8" x 2-3/4". The ice cream cones on the DSP were SO cute. I then cut a 3" x 2-7/8" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock for the layer.  Before I taped the DSP to the layer, I took the smallest scalloped circle die and cut out a circle from the center of this piece.  Then I taped the card stock and DSP together and I taped it to the front of the card. I tried to center it on the top and both sides.  

Next I cut a 2-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and a 2-7/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock for the layer.

The DSP has some fun designs and one of them had lines on it and once punched with the matching punch in the "Sweet Ice Cream" bundle, it looked like a cone.  I taped the cone to the Whisper White piece. I should have moved the cone up about 1/8" so there would be a little white showing but it's still okay the way it is.

I stamped the top part of the ice cream using Highland Heather ink. I punched it out using the matching punch.  Then I added it to the Whisper White panel using Dimensionals.  I set this panel in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Framed for You" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. They were cut out using the smallest Stitched circle die. I taped it to the scalloped circle die I had cut out and set aside. I set the circle in place using Dimensionals.

I glued on some sprinkles from the "Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles" container.  Aren't they cute?  I am seriously thinking of getting another container of them so I can make shaker cards.  Shaker cards take a whole lot more than what I put on this card.

And for the final thing, I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.  Cute, isn't it?

Sweet Ice Cream, Art Gallery, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

The "Sweet Ice Cream" set is another set I just had to have. I thought it would make great birthday cards for not only kids but adults too.  So here's what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package. I layered it with a 4-5/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Melon Mambo card stock.  I taped the layers together and then taped it to the front of the card.

I cut a 2-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and I layered it with a 2-3/8" x 1-5/8" piece of Melon Mambo card stock.  

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped on a 1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I layered it with a 5/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Melon Mambo card stock. I taped the two layers together and set it in place on top of the DSP. 

Then I set the rectangle layered pieces in place using Dimensionals.

The cone was stamped using Cajun Craze ink. I didn't have any of the new Cinnamon Cider ink so I used what was closest.  I punched out the cone and then stamped the "texture" image on it. You could do it before you punch it too, it doesn't matter.

The ice cream was stamped using Melon Mambo ink and then was punched out. 

I taped the cone to the rectangle piece and then added the ice cream to the top of it using Dimensionals. 

The adorable sprinkles were glued in place. They came from the "Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles" container.  I might have to get another one of those before they retire, though there are a lot of them in the container!

This was a very fun card to make. I love the colors and it's great for a male or female of any age.

Hey Chick, Friendship Card, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Stampin' Up! brought back the "Hey Chick" stamp set and matching dies. I still had my set. I wasn't surprised, I have tons of retired sets here (which are slowly getting put in my web store so I can sell them and make room for the new stuff).  I don't plan on buying the dies because I just placed an order last week and just can't justify sending in another order for only the dies which I think will retire along with the catalog.  SO I fussy cut the chicken out. Yup, I fussy cut it and I lived to tell about it!!! LOL Fussy cutting is not one of my favorite things but I have been known to do it. Here's proof! 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I took a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package. There was a piece in the pack that was already cut so I trimmed it to 5-1/8" x 2-1/2".

I stamped the chicken from the "Hey, Chick" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I colored the chicken in using the light Daffodil Delight and the light and dark Cajun Craze Blends pens.  Then I fussy cut it out.

The ovals are Crumb Cake for the stitched one and Soft Suede for the scalloped one. I also cut the small scallop using the center of the larger scalloped Soft Suede piece.  

The words are from the set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock. I die cut them with the smallest stitched oval die. Then I taped all the ovals together. 

After taping the DSP to the front of the card, I taped the large ovals. I set the chicken in place using Dimensionals. The small ovals were also set in place using Dimensionals.

For the final touch I added some sequins for a little bling and color.  And that was it.

Art Gallery, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I don't know what it was about this card but when I saw it I knew I just had to make it. It also helps that I had most of the stuff to make it too! You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

Then a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was cut for the first layer. Before taping it in place on top of the card base, I die cut the largest "Stitched Nested Labels" die. No point in wasting all that white you are covering up.  

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package. I taped that on top of the Whisper White piece.  Then I taped the "Stitched Nested Labels" piece to the front of the card, centering it as much as possible.

I stamped the flower from the "Art Gallery" set using Flirty Flamingo ink. Then I stamped the highlights using Flirty Flamingo ink but I stamped that image twice to make sure it was nice and dark. I set it up in my Stamparatus to make sure I could stamp it more than once if necessary.  I use the Stamparatus most of the time for my stamping.  Even for the words for this card which came from the same set. I used black Memento ink for the words.  Then they were die cut with the rectangle die from the bundle. I cut them out the same time as the flower.

The smaller flowers were stamped using Petal Pink ink. I die cut them and then trimmed off the leaves.

The smaller flowers were stamped again using Old Olive ink and the flowers were removed.

And there's a stem and leaves in the set that go with the large flower. That was stamped using Old Olive ink. 

Once all the pieces were die cut they were ready to assemble.

I added Dimensionals to the larger flower and set it in place on the stitched white piece.  Then the stem and leaf piece was taped in place (no Dimensionals used there).  

The smaller flowers were set in place using tape on the top part of the two flowers and Dimensionals in the rest of the areas. Then that piece was set in place. 

Tape was added to the smaller stem and leaf part and was set in place by slipping it under the Petal Pink flowers.

The words were added using Dimensionals and a 4" x 5-1/4"piece of white card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I like how the DSP was used here because it was a piece I wasn't sure how I was going to use.  It's such a pretty card and I'm glad I happened to come across it.

Peaceful Moments, Fine Art Floral, Sympathy Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I saw a card on Pinterest with colors that really appealed to me, so I thought I would give it a try. Here's what I ended up with. There are no instructions at the link, so here is how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of the card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Floral" 12" x 12" pack. I taped it to the front of the card. I was kind of glad I ran across this card because the DSP used on it was one of my least favorite in the pack but on here it looked nice, so I went with it.

I didn't have any Pretty Peacock card stock so I used Bermuda Bay. Now I may have faired better with Shaded Spruce, but not too sure about that either.  Anyway, I die cut the scalloped edges using the die from the "Ornate Thanks" bundle, the Ornate Borders" dies.  I die cut two. Make sure you leave at least a 1/2" for attaching to the DSP.

Then I cut a 1-1/2" piece of DSP that was on the backside of the piece I already taped down.  I turned it over and added tape to both long edges and set the die cut strips in place. I added Dimensionals to the back and centered it on the front of the card.

Then I stamped the words on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Pretty Peacock ink. I had gotten a cube of it in one of my Paper Pumpkin kits.  In time you can collect almost every color of ink in a cube!!  I die cut them using the second largest "Stitched Oval" die. I also had a sample piece of the Pretty Peacock card stock that was given to me when those in colors were announced. I die cut it using the second largest scalloped die. I taped the two ovals together. I kind of regret using it now that I see it on the front of the card. But yet it kind of ties the colors together and tones down the Bermuda Bay a bit. I taped the top part and added Dimensionals to the bottom and I set it in place on the front of the card. 

I added some pearls and I also colored one pearl with the dark Bermuda Bay Blends pen and place it on the Whisper White piece. And the card was finished.

This was a quick card to make but I don't think I'll make another one, I didn't have that much fun making it.

Art Gallery, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up! 2021 Spring Catalog

The "Art Gallery" is still holding first place in my 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog favorite sets. I found this card on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to make. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of it is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock that was textured using the "Old World Paper" embossing folder. 

I taped three strips of white ribbon onto the front of the textured piece. I taped them to the back of the piece. Then I glued the piece in place on top of the card base.

The flowers are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped using Balmy Blue and Highland Heather. They each were inked up and stamped off once. Then I stamped the detailed image using Balmy Blue and Highland Heather ink (without stamping off). 

The leaves were stamped using Night of Navy ink. It appears that my Night of Navy ink is a bit more navy looking than the leaves on the original card. Two sets of leaves were stamped because you need an extra leaf . I die cut the leaves and the flowers at the same time.

The words are from the same set and I stamped them on Highland Heather card stock using Highland Heather ink. I die cut them with the adorable die in the bundle.

I set the Highland Heather flower down first. Then the Balmy Blue one but only add Dimensionals to the left side and snail tape was added to the right side.

The leaves with the stem were set in place with Dimenisonals.  Again take special notice to where the leaves touch the flowers so you can avoid a Dimensional there.  And the single leaf was taped in place with one Dimensional in the middle.

The words were set in place with tape and Dimenisonals.  Just pay attention to where the Dimensionals need to be placed.

I colored some rhinestones using my dark Balmy Blue Blends pen and after sitting for a few minutes to dry, I set then in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.  

I really like the way this card turned out. But I think if I were to make it again I would use Old Olive or Granny Apple Green for the leaves, the Night of Navy isn't doing it for me. Other than that I like the color combo and the layout.

Darling Donkeys, Birthday Card, 2021 Sale-a-Bration, Interactive Card, Technique Card

I have had this card sitting on my computer desktop for a few days now. I have wanted to make it but hadn't had the time. I was hoping that my computer wouldn't need rebooting or I'd lose it because I didn't bother to copy the link to save for later.  I would never do things that would make life easier for me!! LOL Anyway it was on my computer and today I had time to do it.  The link to the card is here and there's a link there to a video on how to make this technique.

I used all the same papers for my card that were in the original card. I did color my donkey a little different and I used ribbon I had on hand that matched.  

This was fun to make and it was pretty easy too.  I do like how it turned out though there would be a few things I'd do differently.  I would add something to the front of the Bermuda Bay rectangle on the front of the card. It's empty and looks like the card isn't finished. I would cut that bottom piece a bit wider so  I could move the donkey over more, thinking that it would allow the donkey to move even more.  

The magnets I used were very thin but they were larger, so I added it to the face of the donkey and not the muzzle.  After making the one I think there would be a way to not have to use the magnets. They are only there because it made it easy to line up the donkey and the white moveable paper. I would think punching out a few 1/4" circles and gluing them together would work. Attach it as you would the magnet and then feel where it is on the card stock and mark it with a pen or a pin, whichever because no one is going to see it.  

I was happy that I got it to work the first time out!  Sometimes I have to redo the technique because of some odd thing I did wrong.  

I think this would be a fun technique to use for a children's card and I will probably give it another try sometime in the future.

I do like that it all fits on a regular size card. Some of these techniques end up too large for a regular card. This was perfect and I like it.
