Simple Leaves, Sweet Words, Glow of Harvest, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share with you. I found a card on Pinterest and thought it looked like it would be fun to make but I did make a few changes. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Golden Glow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Beige card stock was cut for the largest layer. I also cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card.

For the top layer, I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of "Glow of Harvest" Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 12" x 12" package. 

I took a scrap piece of Basic Beige card stock and stamped the leaves from the "Simple Leaves" bundle. I used Golden Glow ink on the dotted one with Early Espresso dotted veins. And the other leaf was stamped using Early Espresso. The photo doesn't do it justice. It looks black in the photo.

After stamping, the two leaves were punched out. 

The words are from the "Simply Leaves" bundle and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Early Espresso ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Sweet Words" set. I also cut a Golden Glow piece for the layer. I taped the words to the layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. I didn't press down because I need to put the leaved in place and I didn't want to have anything in the way.

Glue was added to the back of the leaves and they were set in place on the front of the card. I tucked them under the word piece and then I pressed down on the word piece.

I tied a bow from some retired ribbon and I set it in place with glue dots on the wider part and a dot of mono glue in the center. And that was it, the card was done.

This DSP is SO pretty. It's got a shimmer to it and it's too bad it didn't show up in the pic. This was a fun card to make too.  This would also make a nice Thanksgiving card. Mine is for a friend I send a card to once a month and the wording here is just perfect!
