Sweet Bugs, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I got a surprise today. My Stampin' Up! order arrived 2 days earlier than expected. I didn't follow the tracking of it, I just remembered when I ordered and it later said it was sent, the projected date to receive it was for Friday the 16th. I was a bit disappointed because I knew I was having some people over and I wouldn't even be able to open the box while they are here. So I couldn't wait to open it and play with some new stuff. I found this card on Pinterest earlier (before the order arrived) and I thought it was adorable. Once I opened the box, I remembered it from Pinterest so I got my items together and created it. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it slightly. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Blackberry Burst. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

Two pieces of Basic White card stock were cut at 4" x 5-1/4".  One for the front and the other for the inside.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Cute As A Bug" 12" x 12" package. I used the matching die from the "Sweet Bugs" bundle to cut the bug with the leaf out. On the original card the image was stamped, colored and then cut out. One, I'm lazy and two, the bug was already printed on the paper and I had the matching die! So, I opted for the printed one.

The flower and stem were cut from card stock. Mossy Meadow for the stem and Blackberry Bliss for the flower.

The 5th die in the "Everyday Arches" set to cut out a piece of Basic White card stock.

The words are from the same "Sweet Bugs" bundle and were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink.

I colored some crystal rhinestones using my dark Blackberry Bliss Blends pen but it just didn't seem to be as dark as the ink. But it's still pretty.

To assemble the card I taped the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White pieces in place. Then the DSP was taped on top of that. The arched piece was next.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the bug and the flower. The flower stem was glued in place and the flower was added. The bug was added next and then the rhinestones.  And that was it.

This was such a fun card to make. I was going to mail the card I made yesterday to my friend but I decided she's getting this one instead. It's just TOO cute!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
