The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.
I also cut a 4" x 2" piece of DSP from the same package for the gingham strip.
Using the largest circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut one of Poppy Parade and using the second largest circle die, I cut one using Basic White card stock. I taped the two circles together.
The bug is from the same DSP and I used a matching die to cut it out. There's one bug in the package that "bugs" me. It's mantis and I'm not sure how to use it on a card, but I'll probably figure it out. I'm just not fond of it so I'm guessing it will be a long time before I use it, unless I find a card that used it that's SO stinkin' cute! Anyway, I cut the bug out using the matching die in the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.
I also cut out the strawberry using Poppy Parade card stock and the raspberry using Blackberry Bliss card stock. Hmmm, maybe it's a blackberry!! LOL. The die set also has the tops for the berries so I cut them out of Old Olive card stock and used a tiny bit of glue to hold them in place. A small Dimensional was added to the back and they were set aside.
The "hello" is from the same bundle. Using Blackberry Bliss ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock, I stamped the "Hello Friend" image but cut the "friend" off. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.
Now to assemble the rest of the card. I took the strip of DSP and taped it on the larger piece of DSP about 1" from the bottom of that larger piece.
The circles were taped in place next and they are about 1/4" from the fold and 3/4" from the bottom edge.
The bug was added next and then the "hello". This allowed me to see where the two berries would go. Once they were on, I opened the "Ladybug Garden" epoxy embellishments and added one to the large leaf the bug is holding and the card was done.
This was a fun card and a great way to use that busy background DSP.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
