The card technique or fun fold here is the "Book Fold". It's super easy to do too. I cut my Basic Black card stock on the 8-1/2" side. Once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11". I scored it in the middle at 5-1/2, as usual. Then I score one inch on each side. So the scores are at 6-1/2", 5-1/2" and 4-1/2". Fold the card in half and burnish the fold line using a bone folder. You want a nice crisp fold. I opened the card and folded the top part back on the 4-1/2" fold, just like you are opening a card. I added glue to the one inch area and closed the card. I set it aside to dry.
Next I cut the Granny Apple Green card stock. The left strip measures 4-1/8" x 7/8" and the larger piece measures 4-1/8" x 4-3/8".
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Painterly Pears" 12" x 12" package. I used a scrap piece for the strip. It measured 4" x 3/4". I taped it to the Granny Apple Green strip. The larger piece of DSP measures 4" x 3-1/2". I taped that piece to the larger Granny Apple Green piece. Then I taped the strip to the front of the card.
As for the larger piece, I needed to add the circle before attaching it to the front of the card. I had used the retired "Spotlight on Nature" bundle and cut it using the largest die on Basic White card stock. I taped it to the front of the card about 1" from the top of the DSP and 1" from the side of the DSP.
The pears were fussy cut because I only bought the DSP and not the stamp set/bundle. The bundle has the matching dies but these images are very easy to fussy cut so I went that route, plus I had bought way too many stamp sets to play with and I didn't dare get another. Once fussy cut I laid them on the circle and noticed that the circle was too bright. I didn't have the dies to cut the other elements around the pears so I thought I'd just take a toothbrush (the husbands, not mine *winks*) and tapped on some Crushed Curry ink. I think Peach Pie might have been a better choice after I had put the card together. Once the color was added to the circle I set the large pear and stem on the left in place using tape. Then the second large pear and stem was added with Dimensionals. The small pair of pears was added using Dimensionals on the left side and a bit of tape where it would be touching the large pear.
I had fussy cut some of the flowers from the same sheet the pears were on and I glued them to the front of the card.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White card stock. I used a 1-1/2" circle punch on the word piece. I set it in place using Dimensionals. I also added a couple of flowers to it too.
The flowers were nice but they needed a little something so I added some small pearls to the center of each one and the card was done.
I did have fun making this card. It's something I don't think I would make again but I do like how it turned out.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship/thinking of you card,
Wanda
