The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I cut it to measure 3-3/4" x 5" and I glued it to the front of the card.
Next I cut the Basic Black layer and Basic White layer using the dies from the "Textured Notes" die set. I used the 3rd and 4th largest dies. I taped the two layers together.
The rose was cut using a die from the "Charming Day" bundle. I cut it out using Granny Apple Green card stock that had a double sided sticky sheet added to it to make it into a sticker to make it easier to set in place. You can also use glue to put affix the piece. As for me, I'm lazy and take the easy way out when I can (or when I remember). Then I just cut the flower part using Real Red card stock. I had to trim a little off the Real Red piece so it would look like there was the green coming from underneath the flower. When cutting the red card stock the green part was red. If I had taped it like it was it would not have looked very nice. I just simply trimmed around the flower bottom and then taped it on top of the Granny Apple Green piece. I removed the protective sheet from the back of the piece and set it in place on the black and white layered piece. The red piece was taped on top of the green flower. Make sure you get it on there exact or the green will show.
Dimensionals were added to the back of the black and white layered piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.
The words were printed on my computer. I didn't have any stamps that would work for that space so I printed them. Then I cut them out using the retired die from the "Heart Shaped" bundle.
I thought the card could use a little something more, but what? Then I thought that some Wink of Stella on the rose would be a nice touch and it turns out that it was! And the card was complete.
This was a very quick, easy and simple card to make. It's a fun layout and I was glad I was able to use that flower die. I didn't think I would because I couldn't envision it in my head. But as it turns out it ended up looking pretty nice and now I need to figure out another way to use it! It's always good to try to use all of the pieces in the stamp bundles, right?
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's wedding card,
Wanda
