To a Wild Rose, Peaceful Moments, Thinking of You Card

I did not take a good look at the retiring list because I hate to say goodbye to some of my sets.  While I was looking at the new catalog, I had the "To a Wild Rose" set sitting out and I didn't even need to look in the catalog to know it's retiring. It's a special set. It's one that a demonstrator, who sold over 1 million dollars in product, gets to design a set. It's kind of sad about those sets because they are only in the catalog for one year. I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I stamped the flower on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Night of Navy for the outline. Then I stamped the solid part using Balmy Blue but I stamped off once. And the detail part was stamped using Balmy Blue fresh from the ink pad.  I die cut it with the matching die.

A 3" x 3" piece of Basic White was cut and the leaves from the "To a Wild Rose" were stamped using Mossy Meadow for the outline images. Then Old Olive was stamped using a detailed image. I only used two of the leaf stamps but I did use all three stamps for the flower. It would have been better if I had gotten the leaves closer to the corners or even stamped off so some of the leaf is missing. But it's still pretty the way it is.

I cut a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Balmy Blue card stock and 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock for the layers. I taped all three of those layers together.

Then I die cut a Balmy Blue lacy piece using the die from the "Wild Rose" dies.  I used a double sided sticky sheet before I die cut them because I didn't want to mess with any glue.

I set the lacy piece down and the layered piece on top to see where the words would go. I wanted to make a "Thinking of You" card and I wanted the word to fit evenly.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set using Mossy Meadow ink.

The lacy piece was then set in place and the square layers on top.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower and it was set in place on top of the leaves.  And that was it.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. It can be used for several other occasions too. It's very versatile.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this sweet versatile card,
