Cutest Crew, Cute as a Bug, Brushed with Beauty, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you.  I LOVE play dated with friends and especially when it's a stamping play date. You get to play with stuff you don't have but wanted.  I loved this set and thought I'd stamp a cut a few images to take home with me to play with later.  The bundle is called "Cutest Crew".  I stamped and cut a row of cats first because I am such a cat lover. Then I fussy cut one of the cats off the row.  Then I stamped some dogs and then the birds.  I will have some cards in the future to share with you once I use the images. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package was cut and taped to the card base.

On top of that is a piece of Basic White card stock that was cut at 3-1/2" x 4-5/8".  I taped that to the DSP on the card base.

Then I cut the top layers. The Mossy Meadow card stock was cut at 3" x 4-1/8" and I cut the DSP from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package.  I added a little bit of tape where I thought the opening would be, I taped the two pieces together in just that spot. I made sure the edges were all lined up.  Using my 1-1/4" circle punch I dropped the piece all the way down inside the punch. I eyed both sides of the punch to see that the papers looked equal and I punched the circle. Then I took the punched piece of DSP and placed a piece of copier paper behind it and using my 1-3/8" circle punch I punched a ring. I taped the DSP to the Mossy Meadow piece, Dimensionals were added to the back around the circle and the piece was set aside.

I took a scrap piece of Basic White, about 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" and I scrubbed on some Mossy Meadow ink, very lightly using a blending brush.  I removed the backing on the Dimensionals around the circle and set the piece in place. Dimensionals were added to the back of the entire piece, except for the 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" white piece, I added tape there and I set the piece in place on top of the Basic White layer.

The kitty was colored using both light and dark Pumpkin Pie blends. I chose an orange color because I have an orange cat and I thought this color would pop on the greens I chose for the layers. Dimensionals were added to the back of the kitty and it was set in place in the center of the circle.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the "Labeled with Love" die. Using my dark Mossy Meadow Blends pen, I colored the edges of the word piece. I used the belly of the pen to color the edges. I did it slowly so the ink would bleed onto the card stock a bit. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

A little brass butterfly was added to the word piece and the card was done.

I have always loved this layout. Though I'm not too fond of the large layer of DSP. I think I could have done better with that. But it is what it is and all in all it's okay.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
