Gears & Texture, Banner Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Beige card stock for the largest layer. I taped that to the card base.

Then I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White and on top of that is a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic Beige. I textured it using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder. I glued it to the Basic White piece.

Next I cut the gears for the focal layer from the "Gears & Textures" bundle using Basic White card stock. I cut some extra circles that look like top of Phillips head screws for my accent pieces. I wanted this card to be easily mailable.

After cutting the gears and textures I glued them in place on the front of the card. I stated with the long ladder looking piece. It's about 3/4" up from the bottom edge of the focal layer. I had to lift it up a bit because the open circle needed to slipped through the ladder piece. And before pressing that piece down I glued the largest gear a little behind it.

There is some grate looking piece that was glued on next. The smaller gear was added to the left using Dimensionals. I added the smallest gear to the center of the largest gear. I glued the Phillips head screw pieces in place on the card.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" bundle and were stamped using Basic Beige ink on Basic Beige card stock. I cut them out using one of the dies in the bundle. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the focal layer and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I liked playing with those gear pieces. I also like monochromatic cards. It's one of those "more is less" type things.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
