A Touch of Ink, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Today's card was made using the 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration set "A Touch of Ink".  It is a fun and versatile stamp set to play with.

I like this layout and I was hoping to use the new "Stitched Triangle" dies that I bought a while back but the largest one wasn't quite large enough for my card so I had to make my own. I'll explain how a bit later.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock.  I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside.  Sometimes I like to wait until the card is all done to add it but lately I have been adding it right away so when I'm done with the front, I'm done with the card. A psychological game!  LOL

I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the front of the card. Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hydrangea Hill" 12" x 12" package. I taped that on top of the Whisper White piece.

I took a piece of copier paper 3-1/8" x 4-3/4" and I folded it in half the long way. I took this piece to my paper cutter and cut from corner to corner. Now I had my triangle. I set this piece on top of another piece of DSP from the same "Hydrangea Hill" pack and lined up one of the longs sides along the DSP and I lightly traced the other two sides. You could cut the DSP to 3-1/8" x 4-3/4" to make the triangle but I didn't want to since my DSP was in a gift pack for placing an order from Terri Gaines. I got several half-sheets of coordinating card stock and a 4" x 6" piece of each of the designs in the "Hydrangea Hills" pack.  So I wanted to make sure I didn't waste any of it in case I need that design for a future card.  It's very pretty paper and I'm seriously thinking about ordering a pack just to use it on cards with large words added on top.  Anyway, after getting my triangle cut I taped it in place on the front of the card.

The butterfly is from the "Touch of Ink" set and I stamped it using black Memento ink.  Then I used the step 2 stamp to color in the wings. I used Highland Heather ink to color them in.

I stamped the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink and then used the step 2 stamp to color in them in. I had already grabbed my light Old Olive Blends pen and sat down at my worktable to color and I remembered that the leaves have 2 step stamping too.Every image in the set does.  So I inked up the leaves with Old Olive and I stamped them on top of the defined leaves and the leaves were done. Super quick and pretty too! When I stamped the leaves I made sure they were very close to the butterfly because I wanted to get as much of the leaves in the circle as possible.

I took my largest "Stitched Circle" die and cut out the butterfly and leaves. I set the circle in place on top of the card using Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the words from the same set using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the smallest scalloped circle die. I added Dimensionals to the right side of the circle and some tape to the left side. I set the words in place and the card was done! So quick, easy and pretty too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and have a look,                                      Wanda
