A World of Dreams Sympathy Card

I have always wanted to try that misting the clear block technique. I don't really know what the technique is called but that is what you do to it.  You ink up the block and mist it and then use the block as a stamp and press it onto your card stock.

For my colors I used Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Night of Navy. I love those colors together but I wish the transition between the colors was more muted than a visible line.  Oh well, it is what it is and I do like it so, I guess that means it's okay!!!

I had stamped the image from the "World of Dreams" set and didn't like how it turned out because the flowers or whatever they are weren't perfectly straight.  So I set it aside because I was going to trim it down and use the unstamped part of the card stock.  So in testing out the block misting technique thing, I saw that image still sitting on my worktable (on a top layer of the mess) and I thought I would test it out and see how it looked.  I liked how it turned out and somehow those flower things didn't look so crooked anymore!!!  Funny how that worked out!!

The words are from the "Chalk it up to Love" Paper Pumpkin kit.  It was one of the words in the set that came in the kit that I didn't use.  It's a very pretty font and I stamped them using Night of Navy.

The base of my card is Whisper White.  I added a layer of Marina Mist and the image is stamped on using Whisper White.

This was a fun card to make and it actually went super fast too!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Love this technique and the way you have used it. Haven't tried it, but somewhere along the way I read or was told to lightly mist my paper then quickly and lightly wipe over the paper spreading the misted water, then stamping.

So...just tried it on misted card stock and card stock not misted. I found the color on the misted card stock to be more blended than the non misted paper. The paper did bend slightly but when I added tape to a square cut from the inked area and taped it to another scrap of card stock, it flattened right out and you could not tell that anything was done to the paper.

Thanks for sharing all of your lovely card and technique!

This is absolutely stunning! Over overly embellished or stamped. Perfect! I am going to make it using a different flower and sentiment stamps as I do not have the ones you used. Mine will be a sympathy card. I hope mine looks as beautiful as yours. Thank you so much for sharing your card.

This card just popped up on Pinterest. I love the colors and that silhouette flower image. Very pretty.

I really like this card. The blending of the colours look fine to me, and the more visible line doesn't detract from that, in my opinion, rather, it is part of the design. A great sympathy card. Thankyou for sharing the technique.
