A Butterfly Basics Half Circle Pop-up Technique Card

Today I am going to share with you a very fun technique.  It's one that Terri had for her Technique Tuesday night group to do.  I'm excited to do this one for the November swap!!!  It's so fun, easy and cute!!  I have to think about what I want for my theme and go from there!

To make this card we had a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Basic Black card stock and folded it in half.  Then we took a 3-3/8" x 9-1/2" Very Vanilla piece of card stock and scored it at 1", 2-3/4" and 4-1/2".  The score lines were folded as hill, valley, hill and valley. On the center score line (a hill) we punched a 2-1/2" circle.  But before we punched the circle, we did our stamping.  We stamped the butterflies, words and the line on using black Memento ink.

We punched through one layer, not through the folded piece.  You can drop the card stock all the way into the punch.

Then we used mini glue dots to attach a 1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Window Sheet inside the fold.

Next we took two mini glue dots and attached it to the bottom of the butterfly and we stuck it to the top part of the window sheet. Then we took another butterfly and added glue dots to the bottom and the top of the butterfly and stuck it to the backside of the first butterfly.  Tape the piece to the inside of the base of the card. Make sure you leave about 1/6" between the fold of the Very Vanilla piece and the fold of the base of the card.

Then we folded the piece down so the front of the butterfly was facing the larger part of that piece of card stock.  If you look at the photo, the larger butterfly you see is the front of the butterfly and we just brought it down to face those 3 little butterflies.  Then we took the end of that folded and scored side of the card stock and taped it.  Close the card and the piece will be exactly where it needs to be without any slippage. We used a piece of decorative paper that measured  3-3/8" x 5" to cover that 1" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

We decorated the front using the flower from the "Butterfly Basics" set.  We added a 2-1/8" piece of decorative paper.  A ribbon was tied around the front and it was all done.

I can't wait to get started on my swap cards!!!  I NEED a theme!!!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
