Pansy Patch, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was wiping down my counter where my Big Shot sits. There's always some tiny little bits of paper that end up on the counter. They are really tiny and must come from the cuts in the plastic plate. My plate is pretty bad and is in need of replacing. Anyway, while cleaning up the area and stacking up the dies, I saw the "Brick & Mortar" one and thought it was time to make a car using it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Brick & Mortar" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

I cut the square frame using two square dies from the "Layering Squares" die cut set. I used the 1-15/16" square and the 1-5/6" square.  I cut them both at the same time. I taped the dies down using some post it note tape. I didn't want them to shift before I got them cut.  I cut them and added some foam tape strips to the back. I set it aside.

The flower is from the "Pansy Petals" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" package and I used the matching dies to cut it out. There's a sheet of flowers and a sheet of leaves that match the dies so you can just die cut these flowers.  Or you can fussy cut them, there's not a lot of jagged edges so it's a pretty simple cut.  I do struggle with the leaves, I can't tell which direction the should go. The upper leaf looks like it should be going in the other direction. But when I switch ends it looks funny because of the way the end is made. You can't see it because it's taped behind the flower.  Anyway, this is what I ended up with. I taped the leaves to the flower. I added Dimensionals behind the leaves and the upper petal of the flower. I did add more later but for now I just added them in those three places.

I took the square and removed the backing on the foam strips and I set it in place on the front of the card. It's set about 1-3/8" from the top of the card and 1-3/16" from the sides.

I took a piece of Baker's Twine and made some loops around my fingers and I set it in place inside the bottom left corner of the square using a glue dot.

I set the flower on top and this is when I could see where more Dimensionals could go. It does need more because the DSP isn't as thick as card stock and would droop.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped on a piece of scrap Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I used my paper cutter to trim the words. They ended up measuring 1/2" x 1-5/8". Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I did add a "Genial Gem" to the center of the flower. It just looked like it needed a bit of a sparkle and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I especially LOVE the brick in the background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see this fun thank you card,
Wanda
