Forever Fern, Pansy Patch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Today's card came right from Pinterest.  I though it was pretty and it looked like a lot of fun to make. You can see the original card here.  There's not a lot of information on what went into making this card. I'm sitting here typing and laughing at the same time, I have the hiccups and they cause me to hit the wrong key when I'm typing. They do not come in regular intervals either. They are the kind that surprise you. And I often get a stomach ache when I have them, so there's that to look forward to in a little while too! So, this is how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The layer on top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I had a piece in my stash that was not only the right size but it had a scalloped oval die cut from the middle. So this piece of card stock got the maximum use!  Love it when that happens.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White for the top piece.

I stamped all the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. I stamped one of the large long ones, two of the wide leafy ones and two of the small leafy ones.  I also stamped two of the rounded ones using So Saffron ink.  I die cut all the leaves.  Then I punched out three Basic White flowers using the Medium Daisy punch. I sponged the centers with So Saffron ink and then I glued the three flower pieces together, offsetting them just a bit.  I added some glue to the center and sprinkled on some crystal glitter and I set it aside to dry.

I also die cut the circle from the "Swirly Bird" set. There's a new swirly circle in the catalog. I don't know what set it came from because I didn't purchase it.  Not sure if I will, I think I may hang onto this set for a bit longer. I should have used the double-sided sticky sheet before I die cut it but I forgot, so there's some gluing in my future!

I set the swirly circle on the front of the card for placement so I knew where the words would go. I stamped the words from the "Pansy Patch" using Soft Suede ink. And then I added the dotted images from the "Forever Fern" set using Crumb Cake ink.

Now I am ready to assemble the card. I taped the leaves down first that are closest to the words.  Then I glued the swirly circle on top of those leaves. The tall, longer leaves piece was taped to the left side.

Next the very bottom leaves were taped down. The smaller leaves had Dimensionals added to them as well as the So Saffron leaves. I removed the backing on the Dimensionals and set them in place.

The flower was glued in place on top of all of those leaf ends and the card was finished.

I think it's such a pretty card. I love using the "Forever Fern" set. There's so many cards I've seen using it that are SO pretty and copy worthy!!

I thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty birthday card. (oh and the hiccups are gone and no stomach ache or typo's!!!)
