Meant for You Ephemera, Ballon Festoon, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a children's birthday card to share with you. I didn't realize how little images I have to make children's cards. I could use the "Cutest Crew" or the "Sweet Bugs" but I didn't think of those sets until I was all done. This is what I came up with and it's going to have to do because I need it today.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4' x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadows" 12" x 12" package. Before taping it to the front of the card base I stenciled the balloon from the "Balloon Festoon" die set. I cut the balloon out on a piece of card stock, set it on the DSP and then scrubbed on some Cloud Cover ink using my blending brush.

The cluster of balloons is from the "Meant for You Mix & Match" ephemera package. The images in the package are stickers but I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on top of the balloon.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set and were stamped using Basic Black hybrid ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch.

I thought the card could use a little something more so I added Wink of Stella to the balloons but it still needed something. I pulled out some old "Itty Bitty Bokeh" mixed dots/sequins and glued them in place on the front of the card. It dressed it up some but I'm still not happy with the way it turned out. It's nothing like what was in my head! But it's done and ready to go.

It was fun making it but frustrating because I wasn't sure where I was going with it. I do like how the balloon blended in nicely with the DSP but other than that, it could use a bit more finesse.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
