The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 5" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it with the (Corrugated" (retired) embossing folder. I hung on to this folder because I've always loved that look. You can use whatever current folder you have, any of the current ones will look just as lovely. I glued this piece to the front of the card allowing equal spacing between the top, bottom and right side. I set it under my stamping mat to set up.
Next I hunted for wedding words but none of the sets I own had anything so I just used my word processor to create them. I used the font "Snell Roundhand" at 18pt. and just printed it out on Basic White card stock with the printer set at black ink.
The words were die cut using the smallest square die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I thought they'd look nicer cut at the angle instead of just flat/normal. I taped them on place using a banner that is from the "Three Banner" punch, using Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the tip of the banner piece to the fold and 2" up from the bottom from that same tip.
I had some flowers that were die cut from the "Extraordinary Flora" washi tape roll. The tape and the matching die is still available. I had cut a section off the tape and set it in place on a piece of Basic White card stock. The tape is pretty on it's own but a bit too transparent for my taste so having it on a white background gave it a more solid look plus it was more firm to work with. Starting with the long green piece on the left I taped it in place. Then I took a small flower, added a small Dimensional to the back and set it in place, tucking a little bit of it under the banner piece. The large flower piece was added next. I added tape to the part of the flower that would be touching the word piece and Dimensionals on the rest. And for the bottom flower, I had a bit of an issue with it. I almost tossed it because the flower didn't cut nice because part of it was cut off when I had cut the strip. But I set it in place anyway and then I added a small flower on top of it and viola, I had a viable and pretty piece again.
For the embellishments, I colored three pearls using my light Flirty Flamingo Blends pen. I let them dry for a few seconds before I set them in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.
I do like how this turned out and I think it would be a great layout for a Mother's Day, Birthday, Get Well or Thinking of You card.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's wedding card,
Wanda
