Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

A week or so ago I made a card using the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and I said I wanted to give it a try using Blends pens instead of the flowers and leaves stamping images. So, here it is.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut from a 12" x 12" sheet from the "Hand-Penned" DSP.  I taped it in place.

Then I die cut the largest scalloped edge die from the "Stitched So Sweetly" package using Basic White card stock. It will later be centered on the front of the card and taped it in place.

The flower image was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. It was then die cut using the matching dies. Though if you didn't own the dies this wouldn't be bad to fussy cut.

I used my Blends pens to color it in. For the leaves I used both the light and dark Mint Macaron. The tiny flowers were colored using both light and dark Highland Heather. and the larger flowers were colored in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight. The centers of the flowers were colored in using the light Pumpkin Pie pen. I just scribbled with the Blends. I didn't want to follow the lines and color because some of the flowers didn't have solid lines all around them.  I found using the Blends to color in the flowers and leaves a whole lot quicker than using the stamp images. And I didn't have any cleaning up to do after!

I set the scalloped piece in my Stamparatus and used the "Thanks" from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and Gorgeous Grape ink.  I did set the flower image on top to see where the words should go.  After stamping the words I taped the piece in place. I am not a big fan of the word "thanks". It is okay but it's not as nice sounding as a good "thank you" is.  It just doesn't seem quite as grateful to me.

Then the flower image was set in place. A few rhinestones were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

I REALLY like how this card turned out and I like how quick it was to cut and color too. I can see myself making more like this.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty card today,
