Expressions in Ink, Artistically Inked, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

There are times when I find some Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I think is SO fabulous that I just have to have it.  The "Expressions in Ink" is one of them. The colors in this package are amazing. They are fun and easy to work with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I don't have any of the new colors yet, I ordered a variety pack and it should be here on Wednesday.  So in the meantime I used a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock. The new Evening Evergreen would be a good choice but I made the Shaded Spruce work!

I cut a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of the "Expressions in Ink" DSP. I taped the DSP to the Shaded Spruce card stock and then I taped both of them to the front of the card.

The "Artistically Inked" bundle has some fun dies. I loved this leaf die. I cut it using a piece of Basic White card stock that I had added a sticky sheet to it so it would be a sticker because I couldn't imaging trying to get this piece taped or glued to the front of the card.   And once again I found that my sticky sheet wasn't as stick as I thought it was, so I used my heat tool and warmed it up a bit and then it stuck SO much better.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Versa Mark. I sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and heat it up. Then I die cut it with the rectangle die from the "Rectangle Stitched "die set.

The words were set over the area I thought they would look the best.  Then I set a glue dot in that area do I could put down some loops of gold cord. I added three on the top and one on the bottom. The top ones were about 4" long pieces before they were "looped". And the bottom one was about 3" before it was "looped".

Once the loops were in place, I added Dimensionals to the word piece and set it in place over the glue dot area and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love it when the DSP carries the card and leaves little stamping or die cutting.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and have a look at today's card,
Wanda
