Radiant Sunflower, Sunflower Fields, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. It was the embossed background that drew me to this card. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Softly Woven" embossing folder. I glued it to the card base.

Next I cut the top layers. I used Cajun Craze for the large layer. On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Sunflower Fields" 12" x 12" package. I taped the DSP to the Cajun Craze piece and then that was glued to the front of the card, centering it as much as I could be eyeing it.

The circle is from the "Spotlight on Nature" dies. I stamped the words from the "Radiant Sunflower" bundle using Early Espresso ink. I set it aside.

The vase was cut next from another piece of DSP in the same package. The die cuts two at a time so I cut two. I'm sure I'll find a use for the other one. I cut two stems from Mossy Meadow card stock. Then I cut the flowers from Crushed Curry card stock and the centers from Early Espresso card stock. I glued the center of the flowers on.

I added a little tape to the back of the vase and added the stems. Then I added the flowers with a little bit of tape. I turned them over and arranged them to look nice. I laid it on top of the circle to see where the words would go. I stamped the words from the "Radiant Sunflower" bundle using Early Espresso ink. Then I turned the flowers and vase back over and added glue. I set the piece in place on the circle, making sure the words weren't covered.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle and set it in place on the front of the card.  I set the circle in place on the front of the card, centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

A linen bow was tied and glued to the top of the vase and the card was done.

This was a pretty easy and quick card to make. I still like the textured background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
Wanda
