Thoughtful Wishes, Unbound Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. It's so fun to play with the new stuff. Today I found a card on Pinterest that I wanted to make but I didn't want to make a "Z Fold". The person I would be giving the card to just wouldn't understand how it works and wouldn't appreciate how fun a "Z Fold" card is. SO I had to simplify it. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Looking at it now I probably should have used Lost Lagoon for the base but I was running low on it so I was just trying to get by with what I had.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I taped that to the front of the card.

Next I cut the two pieces of card stock, one is Lost Lagoon and the other is Wild Wheat. The Lost Lagoon piece was cut at 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" and the Wild Wheat piece was cut at 3-3/8" x 4-5/8".  Before taping the two pieces together I die cut the leafy branch from the "Thoughtful Wishes" bundle from the Wild Wheat piece. Then I taped the two pieces of card stock together.

The DSP was cut at 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" and was taped to the top of the Wild Wheat piece. Then the three pieces were taped to the front of the card.

The flowers are from the "Thoughtful Wishes" bundle and two of them were cut from Basic White card stock. I colored the flowers using my light and dark Fresh Freesia Blends pens and my light and dark Old Olive Blends pens for the leaves and stems.

The words are from the "Unbound Love" bundle and were stamped using Versa Mark on a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock. I heat set the words using white embossing powder. I cut them using the die from the "Unbound Love" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

A large bow was tied using some linen thread and set aside.

I ran some tape across the middle are of the DSP so I could stick down the die cut pieces. I added the Wild Wheat piece first and then the two die cut flower pieces.

The bow was added and then the word piece was set over the top of all of these pieces. And the card was done.

It's SO pretty. I love this piece of DSP and adding the die cut flowers made it even prettier. This would be pretty as a get well, thinking of you, Mother's Day, or friendship card. It's so versatile.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
