Simply Zinnia, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very pretty card to share with you. You can see the original card here. I pretty much copied it as it was. Please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside. Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I did not buy the zinnia embossing folder because I knew it would be retired because this was a special purchase. So I just use what I thought would look nice and the "Distressed Tile" did the trick for me. I set that piece on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

Next came all of the die cutting and there's LOTS of it.  I cut 3 sets of the flowers, buds, stems branchy looking pieces and leaves using the dies from the "Simply Zinnia" bundle. Daffodil Delight was used for the flowers. Wild Wheat was used for the flower centers. Crushed Curry was used for the ring around the flower center. Pumpkin Pie was used for the budding flowers. Lemon Lime Twist was used for the leaves and stems. And all of those stars are cut from Lemon Lolly. I used 43.WOW!

I sponged on some Crushed Curry ink on the flower petals and on the tips I used a little Pumpkin Pie. And for the Pumpkin Pie buds I used Pumpkin Pie ink.

Now I was ready to assemble the flowers. I glued the Pumpkin Pie pieces together than glue them to the stem. The larger flowers were glued together and then all the stars were glued to the tips of the ferny pieces.

The larger flowers were set in place first using Dimensionals. Then the large leaves were added The Pumpkin Pie pieces were added next I put a Dimensional behind the heads of each of those flowers. Then the starred pieces were slipped under the flowers with a dot of glue on the end of the stem.

The words are from the same "Simply Zinnia" bundle and were stamped using Versa Mark and white embossing powder was heat set. I fussy cut the piece out. A Dimensional was added to the right end and glue to the rest of the strip. I set it in place and held it down for a bit until it stuck to the flowers.

This card is SO pretty and I'm considering keeping it but I do have a special friend I own a card to so I may just sent it to her, after all I do have a photo of it on my blog, right? Oh and I don't think I'd make another one. This took a lot of time and there were a lot of pieces to it. I know it's worth it but it's just too much work and time for me.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
Wanda

You're right - so much die-cutting!! But, it's a very wonderful card, for sure, with beautiful flowers.
