Adventurous Sky, Take to the Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up

Hello and welcome to my blog. I found this card on Pinterest and wanted to make it, mostly because I had the stuff to make it plus I really liked the look of it. You can see the original card here. There were no instructions on how to make the card. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

A 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package was cut and taped in place on the front of the card. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

Next I cut a piece of Copper Clay card stock that measured 2-5/8" x 4-1/4". I taped it about 1" from the top edge.

Another piece of DSP from the "Take to the Sky" package was cut at 2" x 4-1/4" and the bottom was trimmed to make the ribbon looking end. I cut it up from the center about 5/8". You can pretty much cut it any way you like, if you like a shorter center of a taller one. I usually just guess at what I think looks good. I taped this piece to the front of the card about 3/8" from the top edge and I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

The plane was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock that measured 2" x 3-5/8".  I used black Memento ink and the large air plane from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle. I colored the plane in using my Blending pen and Copper Clay ink and Smoky Slate ink. I didn't purchase the Copper Clay Blends pens, I just couldn't justify buying them since they stay current long enough.

The words are from the same "Adventurous Sky" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. Dimensionals were added and the piece as set in place on the front of the card centering it on the Copper Clay piece. It's about 1-5/16's from the top edge. And that was it!

This was a fun card to make and SO quick and easy too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
