Itty Bitty Christmas, Winter Woods, Christmas Card

Today I was looking for a soft subtle winter solstice card to make. I found a card on Pinterest that looked like I could work with here.  I made a minor change and I'm not too sure if I like it.

I used Real Red card stock for the base of the card.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White for the focal piece. I also cut one that same size for the inside of the card.

I masked off the card using two strips of post it note tape. You can mask with copier paper too, just be careful when you are scrubbing on your colors.

For the background I scrubbed in some Balmy Blue ink and then I added a little Seaside Spray ink. I also added a little bit of Rococo Rose ink for the pink in the sky which ended up making the sky look a bit too dark.

The trees are from the "Winter Woods" set and were stamped using Smoky Slate ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus and stamped the image three times to get the ink nice and dark. I was tempted to ink up the image with black Memento ink but I thought I'd just wait until I see what it looks like all done.

The large tree was stamped the same way, three times with Smoky Slate ink. I die cut it with the Stitched Oval die and I cut a Real Red oval layer for behind it. I taped the two ovals together.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Christmas Wishes" and were stamped using Real Red ink.

The focal piece was taped onto the card base and then the oval was set in place using Dimensionals.

And that was it. It's simple enough but I would rethink the sky background or the color of the trees.

Thank you SO much for taking the time today to stop by and have a look,                                                Wanda
