Celebration Tidings, Ornate Layers, Christmas Card

Today's card was pretty simple to make. I wasn't looking to use up scraps but that's how it ended up. I had a strip left from the card I made on Sunday so I thought I'd work with that and here's what I got.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 3" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock for the top layer.

The three strips are cut as follows. The wider Night of Navy piece was cut 1-3/8" x 3-3/4". The narrower Night of Navy strip was cut 3/8" x 3-3/4".  And the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brightly Gleaming" 12" x 12" package was cut 7/8" x 3-3/4".  I taped the strips to the Whisper White top layer piece. Once those were taped together I taped the piece to the front of the card. There is a 5/8" border on the sides and 7/8" border on the top and bottom. I had to measure to center it and I wrote the measurements down and now I'm able to share that with you too.

The words are from the "Celebration Tidings" set using Night of Navy ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I die cut them with the long stitched die from the "Ornate Layers" dies. This piece will be set in place using Dimensionals but first you will need to die cut some leaves.  Mine are from the "Christmas Layers" dies. I used vellum for my paper. I cut the leaves down and bunched them up a bit. I first had them hanging over the DSP a little but I didn't like the look of it so I cut it back and added that piece to the bunch. I glued a small piece on the bottom of the word piece. And there was a tiny one I die cut that I glued to the word strip.

The word strip still needed something so I added some sequins.  I'm not real fond of this card. I liked it until I added the vellum and sequins but then the left side of the word strip looked funny.  Maybe a big snowflake would have looked nice there.  So this is how it turned out.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to have a look today,                                                                  Wanda
