Bonanza Buddies, Birthday Bonanza, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I found this adorable card on Pinterest.  You can see the original card here.  I think I may need to get my eyes checked. I'm having trouble locating center lately!!!  But it's still cute and given to a kid, they will never know the difference.

The base of the card is folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

The top Whisper White piece was cut 4" x 5-1/4".

I die cut the bird from the "Birthday Bonanza" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  If you didn't get the paper, you can just use the bird in the stamp set.  I would set him up in my Stamparatus (or Misti if that is what you have) and stamp him a couple of times (or more) to get him nice and solid.  You can always take a marker and fill in any light spots but that sort of shows and I don't like the look of it being blotchy.

I stamped the hat using Bermuda Bay ink. I stamped one balloon using Rococo Rose ink and when I die cut the bird, I die cut those two pieces at the same time.

I set the 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock in the Stamparatus and I stamped the words. I did stamp them twice to get them nice and dark.

Then I set the bird on top of the piece so I could tell where to stamp the strings.  Again I just left my Whisper White piece in the Stamparatus and I stamped the balloon strings using black Memento ink.

I stamped the other balloons. One was Bermuda Bay and the other is Crushed Curry.

I set the bird in place using Dimensionals and then I stamped the star/splat/pom pom looking image using Crushed Curry.  They really give the card a festive look.

I set the bird in place so the beak is over the strings.

I set the balloon in place with a Dimensional.

I set the hat in place with a little bit of glue on the tip of the birds head and a Dimensional on the upper part of the hat.

I set the 4" x 5-1/4" piece in place on the card base using Dimensionals.

I added the pom pom with a tiny dot of glue and the card was done.

A little note here.  If you are stamping your own bird, the beak colors are Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Cajun Craze.  Or that is what I think they are.  You can color them as you like. I do recall coloring the beak using the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen instead of markers like I listed above.  Any way you color it, it will look great.

That is it, a super cute, fun and quick children's birthday card. Or for someone who loves Toucans.

Thank you SO very much for taking the time to visit today,
