Sailing Home, Itty Bitty Greetings, Friendship, Hello Card

Today I needed to make a thinking of you card that didn't actually read "thinking of you" and this is what I came up with.

I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I did change it a little.  I didn't embellish it as much as the original card but it's for a guy and I think it will be just fine.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Sahara Sand.  That is a color I don't use much at all, so it was kind of fun to be able to add it to a card.

I cut the strips using the "Come Sale Away" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I cut the DSP 4-3/4" x 1" and I cut the Night of Navy layers behind the DSP at 5" x 1-1/4".  I taped them in place using snail tape.

I cut another strip of the DSP, it was on the opposite side of the sheet with the tiny lighthouses on it, it measured 4" x 1-1/2".  I also cut a Night of Navy layer at 4" x 1-3/4".  I also set the strip in place using snail tape.

Next I stamped the lighthouse from the "Sailing Home" set using Night of Navy ink.  I die cut it with the 5th largest "Rectangle Stitched" framelets die.  Then I cut a 2-7/16" x 3-3/4" piece of Sahara Sand and a 2-9/16" x 4" piece of Night of Navy for the layers. I taped them together and set the panel on top of the card using Dimensionals.

I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set using Night of Navy ink.  I die cut them using the smallest and second smallest circle dies. I used Whisper White card stock for the words and Night of navy for the layer. I taped the two together and then I set them in place on the front of the card. I added a Dimensional at the 9 and 12 o'clock positions and some snail at the 3 and 6 o'clock positions.

I added a Whisper White 4" x 5-1/4" piece to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun and easy card to make. If you take a look at the original card you can see that AI didn't add the anchor, seaweed or the baker's twine.  The person I'm sending it to won't know the difference and personally, I think the card looks just fine without it. If I ever make another one, I may add the other elements.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
