Beautiful Bouquet, May 2019 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card, Birthday Card

I do like the May 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit but I'm not a big fan of the note cards. I like full-sized cards.  SO I set out to make the note card a regular size card and this is what I came up with.

This is one of my favorite layouts.  I use it mostly when there is a small image in a set. It focuses on it and really shows it off.  Suddenly that little image takes center stage!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pool Party card stock.  The card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side.  This card is folded at the top and opens at the bottom.  It can be cut to open at the side.  Either way works.

The Very Vanilla layer on top of the card base measures 3-1/2" x 4-5/8".  On top of the Very Vanilla is a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay card stock.  And on top of that is one of the note cards from the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I cut it to 2-7/8" x 4".  Now had I paid attention, I could have used the other side of the note card and cut it to 3-1/2" x 4-5/8".  It's vanilla on the one side and Pool Party on the other.  But I'm slow and didn't catch that right away.  I ended up cutting a piece of Very Vanilla.  But now I know and so do you!  But I did end up cutting it to 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" and taping it to the inside of the card.  So all was not lost after all!

To make the holes on the top two pieces, I added a tiny dot of tape to the area where I thought the circle would be.  I made sure I lined up the edges as though the pieces were all taped up.  Then I took the 1-3/8" circle punch and punched through both pieces at the same time.  Then I took the 1-1/2" circle punch and punched an even ring from the first hole on the top piece.  This allows the Bermuda Bay color to show through as an inside border.  I taped those two pieces together.

The flower image from the Paper Pumpkin kit was stamped on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla using black Memento ink.  I colored the flowers using the Blends Pens. First I colored the entire flower in using the Light Petal Pink. Then I colored in some highlights using the Light Calypso Coral pen. Next I colored in the leaves using using the light and dark Granny Apple Green pen.  The coloring was so quick and easy with the Blends pens.

I added some Dimensionals around the back of the circle on the Bermuda Bay piece.  I centered the colored flowers and set them in place.  I added some of the twine that came in the kit. I wrapped it around the panel three times and I taped the ends to the back.  I used snail to start and then added Scotch tape to hold the ends.

Next I added Dimensionals all over the Bermuda Bay piece. I added snail tape to the piece that the flowers were on.  I set the piece in place on top of the Very Vanilla piece.  Then I added snail to the back of the Very Vanilla piece and set that in place using snail tape.

I used one of the word panel pieces that were in the kit. The silver edging is a nice touch.  I stamped the words from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set using black Memento ink.  I set that piece in place over the twine using Dimensionals.

This was fun to make and I was thrilled at the way it turned out.  Now I have a full-size card, just they way I like them! LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
