Snowman Hat Centerpiece and Bed Spring Snowman Tree Topper

Today I was at a craft fair.  I'm only doing two of them this year.  I had to cut back because my time is just being consumed by other things and I don't seem to find that time to work on crafting anymore.  It's sad because I do love it.  I still love polymer clay and I did get to play with it a little.  I made a few angel and some other tree ornaments, but nothing like I wanted to make.  I really need to get into a regular routine where I have set days to play with clay, beads, and other things.  I have SO many supplies and I really need to use them!!!

I just LOVE this hat centerpiece that I made.  I had seen one on Pinterest and I just had to make one.  I went to the Goodwill to get a belt and an LP record.  Who has LP's anymore???  We didn't.  Funny thing about this LP, it's a Christmas one.  Like it mattered.  But if you look on the bottom you'd see the Christmas songs listed!  I took a coffee can and glued it to the LP.  Then I spray painted them after the glue dried.  I asked hubby to grab a can of black spray paint when we were at WalMart.  Does this look like black to you?  Me either!!! LOL  It was a dark metallic brown.  I just decided to go with it since I didn't want to go back to the store to get another can of paint. And what was I going to do with the brown can? So I decided to just use it. And I do like how the color turned out.

I dug through my Christmas stuff and found some greens and other fun things to put around the hat.  I cut and glued the belt to fit and then started decorating the hat. The cute snowman head was from a pick I had gotten several years ago at Joann's.  It was in my stash.  I had fun gluing things all around the hat.

And my second item is a cute snowman tree topper.  A coworker gave me a bed spring she had gotten at some antique show.  I had been talking to her about them and she found one and got it for me.  What a sweetie!  I showed her what I did with it and she said she should have picked me up more!!!  I'm kind of glad she didn't.  I'm not sure I wanted to make a bunch of these.  Plus I know I don't have a bunch of snowman heads.  I had to decapitate a snowman just to get this head.  I should have taken a photo of the body!!! It's kind of spooky.  Maybe I should set it outside on Halloween!!! LOL  Anyway, to make this, I just sprayed the bed spring white.  Once that was dry, I glued the snowman head on top and then white pompoms on the front.  Yup, as simple as that!!!

So this is why I have no card to post today!

Thanks for stopping by today,
Wanda

I'd love to see your clay angels. I used to make dough ornaments and haven't for years. The clay is easy to work with as it isn't quite as fragile.
