For today's card I thought I would play with the new "Season's of Style" decorative paper.  It's suppose to be Christmas paper but I thought I would try to make a birthday card with it.  Well, it looks like a holiday birthday card to me.  Maybe if I wouldn't have used that image or maybe if I wouldn't have colored the berries in using red!!!  LOL  Fortunately for me I do need a holiday birthday card so it worked out for me.
The base of my card is Early Espresso.  The next layer is Cherry Cobbler.  I used Cherry Cobbler ink on the background and was a bit surprised at how dark it looked on the cardstock.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  It looks more like Early Espresso than it does Cherry Cobbler.  Next time I will use VersaMark (if I remember the effect I got this time)!!  I do like how it turned out anyway.
The layers are done using Early Espresso and the Season of Style decorative paper.  The large Early Espresso piece is cut 3-1/8" x 2-3/4" and the decorative paper was cut 3" x 2-5/8".  Then I cut an Early Espresso layer 2" x 2-3/4" and the decorative paper is cut 1-7/8" x 2-5/8". The focal piece is cut 3-1/4" x 1-5/8" on Early Espresso layer.  The stamped piece is cut 3-1/8" x 1-1/2".  And the words are from the Simply Sketched set and punched out with an oval punch and the scalloped oval for the back layer.  Easy enough to make but has a bit of "Christmas" to it, doesn't it?
Thank you for stopping by today,
Wanda
