Charming Day, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Designs" embossing folder. Then I cut it to measure 4" x 5-1/4". I glued it to the card base.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Floral Charm" 12" x 12" package. It mdasured 4" x 2-3/4". Then I cut the layer using the new Secret Sea card stock. I haven't used it yet. It's so dark it almost looks black. I didn't think I had any but I forgot I had ordered a variety pack of the in colors and there's four sheets of each color in it. I taped the DSP to the card stock and then glued that to the front of the card using equal spacing all around. I just eyed it. I rarely measure. If it looks good then it is good!

The leaves/branch were cut using the die from the "Charming Day" bundle. I cut it using Secret Sea card stock.

The words were done next. They are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Secret Sea ink. They were punched out using the "Labeled With Love" punch. I also punched one using Secret Sea card stock. I cut the Secret Sea card stock piece in half and taped each half to the back of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the back.

I laid the leaves/branch piece on top of the DSP and then set the word piece in place. The Dimensionals will help hold the piece down. I gave it a little tug to see if I needed to add a little glue behind a leaf or two but it held tightly.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. It's a simple layout that will work with lots of the DSP in your stash!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
