Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, Stitched Snowflakes, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found todays card on Pinterest and thought it looked like it would be fun to make. I love the double snowflake at the top and it was the colors that caught my eye the most. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Just Jade card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One for the outside and one for the inside.  I taped them now down.

Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock, I actually cut it just a hair less than those measurements because I didn't want to have to trim any excess white after I was done with the Designer Series Paper (DSP). I cut this because I needed something firmer than just DSP for the front of the card.  I punched a 2-1/2" circle in the front of the piece, towards the bottom. I used a punch so I just dropped the card stock to the bottom of the punch and centered it on the sides and punched it.

I cut a the dotted piece of DSP from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package to measure 3-7/8" x 3-3/4".  I taped it to the Basic White piece. I turned it over and punched the circle.

Then I cut a 1-3/8" x 3-7/8" piece of the Just Jade dashed DSP. The original card has the dashes going the other direction. SO much for me paying attention. But in this case, I don't think it matters which way the dashes are going, it looks nice both ways.

A 3/8" wide piece of the blue and white striped DSP was cut at 3-7/8"  long. This piece was taped to the front of the card. I lined it up with the top of the dotted DSP.

I took a 3" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the snowflake folder from the "Wintry" 3D package. I added Dimensionals to the back of the piece with the circle punched out and affixed the 3" x 3" piece to it over the circle.  Then I added glue to the back of the 3" x 3" piece and Dimensonals to the rest of the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and set it in place on top of the card.

I die cut two snowflakes from the "Stitched Snowflakes" set using Basic White card stock. I glued the two together. There is a hexagon piece that is cut from the center of the snowflakes. I kept them and glued the two together. Then I took a Dimensional and set the hexagon piece on it. Then I lined up the snowflake so it was back in place in the center. I removed the protective backing on the Dimensional and set the snowflake in place. I pulled up the "branches" of the top snowflake so it popped up a little.

The penguin was fussy cut from a piece of DSP from the "Penguin Place" package. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I masked off part of the wording in that stamp so I could just get the "Be Merry" part. I used my  "Classic Label" die to punch it out and I trimmed the ends to shorten it. I taped it in place on top of the penguin.

I added some crystal rhinestones to the word piece and to the center of the snowflake and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I love all the colors that are going on here.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,
