Hand-Penned Petals, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

It's not a Christmas card!!!  LOL  I took a little break from Christmas cards. I was failing miserably at them so I'm going to wait until I feel more inspired. I was going to work on some fall and Thanksgiving cards.  Here's my fall card using what I have and making my stamp sets more versatile.

I don't know much about flowers. I can identify a few but not many. When I buy flowers for my garden I often ask the person at the nursery if the pretty ones I picked out will get along.  I just go for pretty and don't know the names.

So for today's card I used the "Hand-Penned Petals" set.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 1-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package. The strip was cut at 5-1/2" long and taped to the front of the card base 3/4" away from the left edge of the card.

The words are from the ""Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. They were die cut a 2-3/8" circle die and cut off to the left side.  Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place about 7/8" up from the bottom of the card and 3/8" from the left fold.

The flower was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. It was colored in using Blends pens in the following colors: light and dark Pumpkin Pie, light and dark Old Olive, dark Daffodil Delight and dark Cajun Craze.

Once the coloring was done the piece was die cut.  The flower was set in place using snail tape on the areas that would be setting on top of the circle and Dimensionals behind the flowers that would be hanging over the circle.

I colored a few rhinestones using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen and set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make.  And it's a fall card too!!

P.S. Kathy Bolam, please look to the right side bar of my blog and you'll see where to get my email address.  Please email me with your mailing address, I'd love to send you one of my handmade cards (not the ugly one though!!! LOL).

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's fall birthday card,
Wanda

Love your card! That's one of my very favorite purchases from SU. I laughed about how you choose flowers because that sounds like me. I don't have a green thumb and I always ask what the names of flowers are and if they'll survive where I plant them.
