Christmas Card, November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I'm sharing with you the latest card I made using my November 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. I'm not so thrilled with the background. The house was too big for that orientation. One of the pieces in the kit with the flat roof might have been better. Though I didn't notice the differences on the roofs until I was all done making this card. I guess I just chose the green door because I knew I had card stock to go with it that would allow the house to stand out.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Shaded Spruce card stock. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside.

I took one of the envelopes from the kit and trimmed the sides so they were even all around. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Then I took my layered piece that was left over from the card I made two days ago and I taped it to the top of the envelope. I centered the piece to the top and bottom and almost on the left. I didn't want to cut off the pre-printed design in the corners.

I took one of the houses with the green door and I cut it in half. I trimmed off the tab on the right too.

The striped arch over the door is from one of the white die cut pieces in the kit. I trimmed it and taped it on over the door.

Then I taped the house in place. I added the cute candies from the kit at the bottom of each of the ends of the arch because they didn't go all the way to the bottom. I also added one to the center of the striped piece (it's from the inside of the little envelope).

The words are in the kit and so is the tag to stamp them on. I stamped them using Cajun Craze ink. I set them in place using Dimensionals.

The star is from one of the white house shaped tags that came in the kit. This star was on the one I fussy cut the arch from. I colored it yellow using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. I taped it on the card.

I added some snowflake sequins and even added them to the center of the candies and the corner of the tag.

This was a fun card to make but like I said, I'm not thrilled with the background. If the house were smaller, I would have still used the Shaded Spruce but cut it 4" x 5-1/4" or 4-1/4" x 5-3/8" and then taped it to a Whisper White card base. I think it just needs something more around the edges.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop today,
Wanda
