Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I have not made a card using my September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit in a couple of days. The October kit is on it's way and should be here next week. I found two more cards I'd like to make before I bag up the leftovers and call it a done deal.  I tried to use up the pieces but there's just too many. And I have yet to use the cat piece.  Maybe I'll find a cute card using it.  Anyway, I found my card on a fun place, it's a FaceBook group "Paper Pumpkin Fan Club". I believe you have to be a member of it. It's free to join. I don't go on it very often. I am going to provide the link but if you can't see it, it means you need to be a member. The only thing I changed was the center of the flowers. The rest is the same as the original card

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock was cut. I also die cut the oval die from the center of the piece before I taped it to the top of the Whisper White card base. I used the largest Stitched oval die.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and taped it on top of the Basic Black piece.

Then I die cut a Whisper White oval one size smaller than Basic Black piece. I taped the ovals together and set them aside.

The pumpkin is from the kit and I stamped the face on it using black Memento ink. I fussy cut around the pumpkin and the leaf was cut off. I also took my Cajun Craze marker and colored the edge of the pumpkin. I just ran the edge of the pumpkin along the side of the brush end of the marker. I didn't want to fussy cut the pumpkin too close to the edge but I didn't want a lot of white showing either. So in coloring the edge with the marker, it hid all the white. Now it looks like it was cut perfectly. I have shared this tip before. I am not the most perfect fussy cutter and coloring the edges makes it look a whole lot better.

When I was done coloring the edges I taped the bottom part of the hat to the top part of the pumpkin. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the two in place on the oval piece. I did set the pumpkin on the oval before I set the hat on to make sure the hat was within the oval enough.

Flowers from the kit were added to the hat. I colored some rhinestone sequins black and set them in place in the center of the flowers. The center flower has a tiny pom pom that was left over from some retired embellishments. The ovals piece was taped to the front of the card. You can wait to tape until you see where your strip and word piece is going to go.

The strip is what was left over after cutting my Basic Black piece. The strip on the original card is larger but I didn't want to cut a strip just for this so I used the scrap that came off the end.  I glued it in place. It was too tiny to tape. But tiny glue dots will work there if you have them. Glue was easier for me and quicker.

The words are from the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and were stamped on a scalloped label piece from the kit and black Memento ink was used. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on top of the label.

Leaves and flowers were added to each side. The top flowers were set in place with a Dimensional. And the flower centers have colored rhinestones. The leaves are from the kit and they were added using snail tape. With all the pieces taped in place the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I think it's pretty darn cute!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
