Ornate Garden, Ornate Layers, Wedding Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was a very simple one.  I was going through some of the stuff on my worktable and I found the word piece.  It was already attached to the punched or die cut piece. I don't recall which it was but by the look of how clean it is around the edges, I'm going to guess it's a punch.  I just looked at my punches and it's from the Pretty Label punch.  I wrote inside each of my punches the name, product number, and price so I can know the name just by grabbing the punch and looking.  I wished I would have done that with a lot of my stamp sets, it would have made it easier to try to know how much to charge for them when I go to sell them.  Anyway, the words were stamped using Soft Suede. This was something that was left over from one of Terri's Stamp a Stacks a while back. I think I had replaced the words at home with something else and just hung onto this one for future use.

So to make this card, I took a half-sheet of Whisper White card stock and folded it in half.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I die cut a gold foil piece of card stock using the "Ornate Layers" dies.  I had made it so it was sticky on the back by using the double sided sticky sheets.  I wanted this to stick to the card stock with ease.  I did find it a bit difficult to get the little pieces off.  When the backing was removed not all of the pieces came off so willingly.  So I had to spend a bit of time picking them out.  But once it was done I loved the look.  I stuck the piece in the center of the card, trying to line up all the edges as best as I could.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ornate Garden" paper pack.  I had gotten a 4" x 6" piece of each sheet plus coordinating cards tock from Terri.  She gives out fun gifts when you place and order.  I cut my DSP 2-3/16" x 3-9/16".  I taped it in place using snail tape.

The word piece even had the Dimensionals on the back, so I just removed the protective layers from the Dimensionals and set the word piece in place.  And the card was done.  Ya gotta love those quick cards.  Even if I would have had to do my own word piece, it would still be a quick card.  I don't know what set the words came from but you can use any that would fit in a 1-1/2" circle.  And using Soft Suede ink, it gives it the look of gold too. It just kind of  blends in with all the other gold. I did a little research and found that the words are from the retired "Beautiful Bouquet" set.  I was sad to see that set retire, it had a lot of fun words in it plus all of the beautiful flowers.

This was a fun card to make and it's SO lovely!!  I have a wedding coming up in November (maybe) and I already made the card but I might swap it out for this one.

Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
