Daisy Lane, Dandelion Wishes, Ornate Garden, Get Well Card

I still have a couple of pieces of the "Ornate Garden" Designer Series Paper" left.  I thought I'd make another card today and then move onto something else for a few days. My goal is to use up those pieces of DSP.  I like them but I don't think I will buy the pack. There's another pack in the catalog that I think I would get more use from. I don't recall what it is right now but it's marked in my catalog.

So, for today's card I used a folded half-sheet of Old Olive for the card base.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside.

On the front I cut a piece of Cajun Craze card stock to 4" x 5-1/4".

Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock for the top piece.  You need the whole piece because you will be adding the DSP on top.  But you could conserve some of the Whisper White by cutting it shorter and using a piece of copier paper on the back. You need something there to attach the DSP to.

The DSP was cut at 2-1/4" x 3-7/8".  I taped mine over the Whisper White piece.

Next I stamped the flower petals from the "Daisy Lane" set. I used Cajun Craze to ink the image up with and I punched the flowers out.  I glued them together and added a retired faceted gem to the center.  I will be using these gems until they are gone. No more hanging onto things because I may use them. I will be using them.  Demonstrators know what to use on the center of the flowers, they are more aware of the current products that would work than I am.  I tend to buy the basic stuff. I rarely buy ribbon or other accessories.

And speaking of ribbon. Mine is some retired Old Olive ribbon.  You can create your own colored ribbon using white ribbon and Blends pens.  I would do that but I had some retired ribbon I need to use up.  My ribbon is SO old, it's from the spools that used to contain 15 yards!!! I have lots of those still in my ribbon holder.  I'm just going to use them as I see needed in my cards. How can I justify buying new ribbon when I have so much retired ribbons?  Wait to add the ribbon until you've stamped the words.

The words are from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. I stamped them using Cajun Craze ink.

Then I taped the ribbon to the back of the Whisper White piece and I added some scotch tape to hold it in place.  I took the ribbon, still on the spool and tied it to the ribbon on the card front.  I tied a knot and cut the ribbon from the spool and trimmed the ends.

I taped the Whisper White piece to the Cajun Craze piece and then I set the flower in place using a Dimensional.

For the final touch, I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I'd love to make more using some different colors at the bottom.

I thank you SO very much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
