Perennial Essence, Good Morning Magnolia, Thank You Card

Thank you Hilda B. for the challenge!!!  The comment you left on my card yesterday impelled me to see if I could use that layout and Designer Series Paper (DSP) idea for other cards.  And this is what I came up with.  A little different with the wording but the same concept.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink card stock. This card is folded on the left and opens on the right.

On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock, but I did not tape it down yet. And on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of the "Perennial Essence" DSP.  I cut the DSP at 3" for the bottom part and the top part is the remainder of the DSP but turned over.  I taped those two pieces to the Basic Black piece.  I taped a piece of Petal Pink Organza ribbon around the part where the two pieces of DSP meet.  I had used a double piece of ribbon, I wanted it a bit thicker but I found it was slippery and didn't line up well (see on the bottom of the ribbon?!!!) I taped the edges of the ribbon on the back with scotch tape and then I taped the two pieces together.

Next I stamped the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus so I could make sure I got the words as crisp and dark as I wanted them.  Once I was done stamping I punched it out using the "Timeless Label" punch.  I set it in place using Dimensionals (after I set the circle in place.

Then I die cut the flower from another piece of DSP using the 2-1/8" circle die cut. And at the same time I die cut a scalloped circle that was a bit larger than the circle. I used Petal Pink card stock.  I taped those two pieces together and I set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  This is where you then add the word piece and the card was done after adding a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside to write on.

So yes, Hilda B. you are right, you can use that layout with other DSP. And thank you for leaving a comment on my post!

Okay, I'm done for the night. It's my birthday today and I'm off to have a relaxing evening with the hubby!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

First, I hope you had a very happy birthday, Wanda. I was very surprised to see my name in your blog today. Yes, you did a great job of making another pretty card using different DSP but the same design. I'll have to CASE this one, too. Enjoy your Sunday!
