Thoughtful Blooms, Itty Bitty Greetings, Mother's Day Card, 2020 Sale-a-Bration

I have had this pretty floral background stamp for a long time now and have not used it.  Much like some other stamping items in my workroom. I'm trying to get to everything I've ignored and at least play with it once.  This one is one I totally forgot about and when I saw this card on the Internet, I thought this embossing folder would be perfect.  It's called "Country Floral 3D".  I've seen so many pretty cards using it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Country Floral 3D" embossing folder.  I set that in place on top of the card base using Dimensionals.

Then I cut a 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Birthday Bonanza" 12" x 12" pack.  I used my "Triple Banner Punch" and punched the right end.  I taped this piece to the embossed Whisper White piece.

I used the 4th largest die from the "Stitched So Sweetly" pack and die cut the cute stitched scalloped rectangle using Daffodil Delight card stock.  The original card used Pineapple Punch, but I didn't have that color.  I limited myself to what in colors I purchase.  I find that I don't use them very often and then when they retire, I'm sitting on a bunch of product.  So I pick and choose which ones I will buy.  Anyway, I taped that piece to the front of the card.

I stamped my flowers from the "Thoughtful Blooms" 2020 Sale-a-Bration catalog using Daffodil Delight ink. I punched them out using the matching "Small Bloom" punch.

Then I stamped the leaves on Whisper White card stock using Granny Apple Green ink. I had to fussy cut those out because there was no punch or die for it. If I were to make this card again, I think I would find another set I have that has leaves to punch or die cut out and just mix them. I do like this layout and may try it going that route.  I'm okay with fussy cutting but not with tiny pieces.

I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set using black Memento ink on a 1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock. I did use my Stamparatus to do this. It allowed me to stamp straight and make sure that I got enough ink on the card stock.  I cut the piece 2" long and then cut the right end to form the ribbon look. I just made a mark at 1/4" (center on the end) and cut each corner to that mark. It wouldn't fit in the "Triple Banner Punch", it's too small.  I didn't need to make a Mother's Day card quite yet but it was one of the single line words that were in the set that would work well on that strip of card stock.  There is a "congratulations" card in the "Thoughtful Blooms" set but I didn't want to use those words.

I set the words in place first using Dimensionals.  Then I added the flowers with Dimensionals. And lastly I added the leaves. I cut tiny pieces off my Dimensional and put it on the leaves.

This was fun (except for the fussy cutting) and I REALLY like the look of this card.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
