Here's a Card, Magnolia Lane, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I thought this card was SO pretty that I just had to give it a try.  It did involve fussy cutting, but I sucked it up and went for it!!! Cuz you know how much I "love" fussy cutting!  LOL  I found this card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and I textured it using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder.  I taped those layers together.

Next I fussy cut several of the flowers from the "Magnolia Lane" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I did end up piecing one of the flowers together.  The large flower on the right side has a smaller one pieced to it on the right.  You can do anything with these flowers to make them fit and look good.

Okay, after the fussy cutting, I stamped the words on a 2-1/4" x 7/8"piece of Petal Pink card stock.  The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and I used black Memento ink to stamp them.  I put the end of the card stock into the "Triple Banner" punch and punched the piece to a tip instead of a ribbon look like the punch was designed to do.  Just turn it over and slip the end in through the backside. A pretty fun trick and tip.

Next I set the flowers around the top and set the words on, just to see what the placement was going to look like.  Move the flowers around until they are where you think they look the nicest.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the flowers and to the back of the word piece.  I set the flowers in place and then I set a Dimensional to the center of the ring of flowers and began adding some silver thread.  I think I went a little heavy with the thread. Once the thread was on, I removed the protective piece from the Dimensionals on the word piece and I set the words in place.  And that was it.

It's a very simple and pretty card to make.  Other than fussy cutting the DSP, it went smoothly. Okay, it did go smoothly even with the fussy cutting. As I recall, I didn't whine while cutting it.  The edges of the flowers and leaves are nice to cut. No sharp corners or turns.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and the card was done.  It's SO pretty!!!!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
