Signs of Santa, Seasonal Chums, Snowflake Sentiment, Christmas Card

Here's another card failure!  This is not what was in my head at all and this is what I ended up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue card stock. And the focal piece measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8.

I used the Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper to make the snowflake edge and the two swirls.  I die cut them using the "Snowflake Sentiment, Swirl Snowflakes" dies.  I mixed some rubbing alcohol and Balmy Blue ink in a spray bottle and sprayed those pieces.  I set them aside to dry while I fussy cut the snowman and little elf from the "Santa's Workshop" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).   I'm not a fan of fussy cutting but I was willing to sacrifice myself for it!!  LOL

The "Merry Christmas" is from the "Seasonal Chums" set.

I taped the Balmy Blue layer to the card base.  Then I affixed the snowflake band on the right side of the card. I had used the double sided sticky sheet on the glitter paper before I die cut it.  There was no way I wanted to try to glue or tape that lacy piece in place.  I also did the same with the two swirls.  I set the swirls in place and then stamped the words from the "Seasonal Chums" set using Poppy Parade ink.

I set the snowman and the elf in place using Dimensionals.  I had accidentally cut the bow off the top of the package.  It looked funny without it so I took a tiny strip of card stock and glued it to the back of the gift with a little bit of it sticking up.  I stuck a small rhinestone to the piece sticking up and now it's got a cute shiny ball on top of the package.  Problem solved!!!  And the card was finished.  What was in my head was SO much cooler but it's obviously it's not going to happen.  LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
