Delightful Dozen Mother's Day Card

I have found some super easy and fun cards on the net to make.  And not only are they super easy and fun, they are appealing to the eye as well.

This card I found on Pinterest.  You can see the original card here.  The original card was made using Melon Mambo.  I did not have Melon Mambo decorative paper so I went with Cherry Cobbler. The only problem that arose from that for me was that I didn't have any Cherry  Cobbler ribbon to go on the top of the card like Rosemarie used.  So I improvised.  I used a piece of decorative paper cut to look like a ribbon and I think it worked out well.

I did not keep the orientation of the paper on the inside of the flower the same as the outside.  I set it on the center to see what it looked like and all of a sudden it just looked flat.  SO I turned the center just a bit and viola!  It took on a depth!

I made mine into a Mother's Day card.  We have a HUGE garage sale coming up here the day before Mother's Day.  There's well over 300 homes that have sales that day plus there's food vendors, port a pots and don't forget the elusive ice cream man!  We laugh at that every year.  The guy comes around at the garage sale and then you never see or hear him the rest of the summer.  We figure he makes his fortune in one day and takes the rest of the year off.  If any of you have been around here during that sale you know how crazy it gets here.  You only have a few choices.  You have a garage sale, which is what we've done for the past couple of years because we are trying to downsize here.  You stay at home and NEVER open your garage door while the sale is on.  Or you leave early and don't come back until after 4 pm.  The traffic and the people just fill the streets.  And they come rain or shine!  Last year I had a few Mother's Day cards in a tote of cards I was selling at the sale and those were the first to go.  So I'm making a bunch more for this year's sale.   It doesn't hurt to plan ahead!  And I'm going through more stamp sets. I need to thin my inventory of them out too!  I am hoping to get them put in my web store too.  But it all takes time.

Anyway, back to this pretty card. It's very easy to make.  Just cut a piece of decorative paper 3" x 3" and punch out the flower. The larger white layer behind it is cut 3-1/2" x 3-1/2". And the Cherry Cobbler piece behind that is cut 3-5/8" x 3-5/8". I like working with square pieces, they are SO much easier to remember the dimensions when you're cutting.

The words are from the Delightful Dozen set.  A set I have used a lot but have not used every image in it!!!  A challenge but not for this week!  I have lots of other things I found that I just HAVE to make.  Though I am finding a problem with that.  I am really liking some of these cards and I am finding that I don't want to part with them!  LOL

Have fun making this card and thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
