Layering Leaves, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm going to share with you my version of a card I saw on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I made a few changes because I didn't have all of the items needed to copy the original card. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Berry Burst card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The first thing I did was I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Bubble Bath card stock was cut for the front of the card. I took the mask from the "Artistic Mix Decorative Masks" set and with my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Berry Burst ink. I always have to remember that the ink will be darker looking once the mask is removed. So you may want to be careful when adding your color. And remember, there's always the other side of the piece of card stock to scrub ink on!!!  Done that too! Once the color was added I taped the piece to the front of card base.

Using the second largest stitched circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set I cut one out of Basic White card stock.

The leaves were stamped using the image from the "Layering Leaves" set. I stamped them with Granny Apple Green ink and then using a sponge dauber I added some Garden Green ink in the center areas. Then the pieces were die cut and set aside.

The flower images were colored using the Berry Burst marker and the Garden Green marker for the stems. The pieces were punched out.

I also punched out a set of vellum leaves and flowers.

The words are from the "Layering Leaves" set using Versa Mark on a scrap piece of Berry Burst. I heat set the words using white embossing powder. Then I die cut the words using the smallest die in the "Nested Essentials" die set.

I was now ready to assemble the card. I took taped the circle in place.  Then I laid the word piece across the area where I thought they should go over the circle. I set down a large glue dot a little below that area and began adding the leaves and flowers. Once they were added the word piece was set in place using Dimsneionals and the card was done.

This was a very fun and quick card to make. I LOVE masking. I ordered the new ones in the fall mini catalog and I can't wait to play with them.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
