Darling Details, Cheerful Daisies, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today's card came from Pinterest. I had clicked on the link and there is a video on how to make the card. I skipped around on the video just to get to the info I needed to quickly put the card together. You can see that link here. Please read on to see how the card is made or you can follow the video.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

Next I took a quarter sheet of Starry Sky card stock and die cut the open lacy piece from the "Darling Details" bundle. I lined up the top and the left side so it looked even around. The right and bottom will be too wide for now. Once the piece was die cut and all the little dots (TONS OF THEM) were popped out, I took the piece to my paper cutter and cut the right side and the bottom to match the top and left sides. What I did was I just took my fingernail and made a dent in the edge of the card stock and lined that dent up on the cutting line of my paper cutter. I don't like to measure if I don't have to.  I did the same for the Basic White piece behind the lacy piece. I took a quarter sheet of Basic White and I marked two edges so it was just a little bit smaller than the Starry Sky piece. I textured that piece using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued that textured piece to the Starry Night piece. I set it aside while I worked on the flowers.

The flowers are from the "Darling Details" bundle. I used Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Sweet Sorbet inks and Shaded Spruce was used for the leaves. I stamped off for the center part of the flowers. The ink is way too dark if you don't. After stamping the images I die cut them with the matching dies.

The words are from the same "Darling Details" bundle and were stamped on a scrap piece of Night of Navy card stock using Versa Mark. I heat embossed white powder and die cut them using the die from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle.

I didn't have the embellishments used on the original card so I colored some pearls using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen.

I'm now ready to assemble the card.

The Starry Sky piece was set on the front of the card base using Dimensionals.

Net the flowers were added. The large flower was added first using Dimensionals. The two smaller flowers were glued in place. I only added glue to the center arched area of the flowers. It doesn't show in photo but the flowers aren't a full flower, it only has 6 petals. The flowers were tucked a little bit under the larger flower. Then the leaves were glued in place.

The word piece was added using Dimensionals and the pearls were set in place.  And there you have it. The card is done. It's a pretty quick card to make and I thought it was so pretty.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
