Snowflake Wishes, Mountain Air, Christmas Card, Shaker Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

This "Snowflake Wishes" set was from last years catalog and it carried over to this years catalog. I did not use it much at all last year (because I bought too many other stamps to play with!). So today I thought I'd take it out and hope that it doesn't bring snow to my area too soon!!! LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic White card stock.

I die cut the circle on the front of the card using the 2-3/8" circle die.

Then I took a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock and my Chalk marker and made the dots in the sky. I took my marker and hit very hard against the metal part of my scissors. This would make the chalk ink splat out of the pen. Now mind you, my pen tip is horrible. I had used the pen and cap and flicked the pen inside the edge of the cap to make it splatter. This ruined the tip but I still kept the pen because it wasn't dried out. So I trimmed the tip of the pen and then proceeded to use the "hitting against the scissor" technique. I got some nice fine white dots on my Night of Navy piece. If you click on the photo you can see it better.

I taped a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of window sheet to the backside of the circle piece. I set it aside to dry while I die cut snowflakes from the "Snowflake Wishes" bundle. I also die cut three trees from the " Mountain Air" set. It's the only set I have that has trees I can die cut out.  I cut three trees for my card.

To trim the trees, I just set the center one on the front of my card and I used my fingernail to trace around the edge of the circle and I used my scissors to cut the bottom part of the tree off. I repeated this for the other two trees.

I stamped the words from the "Snowflake Wishes" using black Memento ink.

Next I turned the piece over and added the foam tape strips around the opening of the circle but in about 1/8". With the back of the piece facing up, I added some snowflake glitter. I added too much but it just looks like a snowy hill so I can accept that! I removed the backing from the foam strips and set the Night of Navy piece in place.

Dimenisonals were added to the back of the focal piece and set in place on the card base.

Then the snowflakes were set in place using Dimensionals. And some sequins from the "Subtle Shimmer" sequins container were glued in place. I also set a pearl inside each snowflake and then the card was done!

This was a very fun card to make. I LVOE the wintery look, though I am not ready for winter yet. I'd like a very nice long fall.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas Card,
Wanda
