Merriest Frames, Little Delights, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I ran across a super quick and simple Christmas card to make. When I saw it I was thinking that I had the embossing folder but I was sad that I hadn't ordered the matching die cut.  Well, as it turned out, I did. I just bought too much stuff to keep track of what I have. I always say I'm not going to order as much the next time but then the "next time" comes around and I lose all sense of consciousness and the next thing I know I have a big box of new stuff to play with.  Will I ever learn?  I found this card here. I changed it a bit.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I textured the front using the pine needles image from the "Wintry" 3D embossing folder. I didn't know what was used on the original card, there was no link to it, so I'm just guessing as I go here. The embossing folder is not as wide as the front of the card, so I embossed what I could from the fold going to the bottom edge and then I embossed the rest of it. You can see where the two embossed sections meet up but once the white piece was placed on the card you really can't notice it anymore.

The white piece was made by first texturing a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and then taking the matching die and cutting it out.  As simple as that. I had used the embossing folder before but not the die cut. I LOVE it!!! Now you're going to see it a bit more in some upcoming cards!!

Next I cut a 2/7/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Night of Navy card stock and I embossed the words on it using Versa Mark. I heat set the words using white embossing powder. The words are from the "Little Delights" set. I didn't have the words that were used on the original card. I taped the word piece to the Basic White piece and then I glued the Basic White piece in place. I should have paid better attention to the word piece instead of trying to line up the die cut piece because it's a bit crooked.  But the next ones I make won't be since I'm now aware of what I need to keep my eye out for.

I added a few crystal rhinestones to the front of the card and the card was done. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card for writing on.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I SO love this embossing folder with a matching die.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas card,

This card is BEAUTIFUL. I'm making a card similar for my Downline Team in November. Thanks for sharing.
